Sinopse

Too many times in lyfe do we let what we THINK is going to happen dictate what we DO. Too many times, do we let the next person’s limitations become OURS. On a regular basis, we breathe breath into perception & allow it to become part of our reality.. Preparing for failure, subconsciously looking forward to rejection. Little do we know, we’ve been practicing these self deflecting habits for most our lives. DOUBT works just as well and on the same terms as FAITH.Good, bad, kind, cold; people, ALL PEOPLE are powerful. And at his core in full SELF, man is capable of AMAZING things.

The concept of mind control might seem like a specialized topic that doesn’t concern us personally, often relegated to the realm of movies. However, the reality is that mind control is a genuine phenomenon, and understanding it is crucial for protecting ourselves against it. This subject has been explored since ancient times, and it is not a recent development.

Controlled societies have existed for centuries, with modern mind control techniques emerging from World War II research. Many experiments conducted during this era remain obscure unless one studies the topic closely. The government is not keen on discussing these practices openly, similar to the covert operations historically conducted by the CIA.

There are two primary methods of mind control: one based on psychological trauma and the other on physical trauma. The psychological approach involves subjecting the individual to severe emotional and physical trauma. The aim is to break down the mind and reshape the personality to perform specific functions desired by the controller. In this process, the victim is often unaware of the changes occurring in their mind and personality.

Stressing the positive, creative aspects of power and innocence, Rollo May offers a way of thinking about the problems of contemporary society.

Rollo May defines power as the ability to cause or prevent change; innocence, on the other hand, is the conscious divesting of one's power to make it seem a virtue, a form of powerlessness that Dr. May sees as particularly American in nature. From these basic concepts he suggests a new ethic that sees power as the basis for both human goodness and evil.

Dr. May discusses five levels of power's potential in each of us: the infant's power to be; self-affirmation, the ability to survive with self-esteem; self-assertion, which develops when self-affirmation is blocked; aggression, a reaction to thwarted assertion; and, finally, violence, when reason and persuasion are ineffective.

In Frontline Bodies, Nicolas Martin-Breteau argues that sports are not—and have never been—purely about entertainment for Black Americans. Instead, beginning in the 1890s during Reconstruction, Black Americans proactively used athletics as a tactic to fight racial oppression.

Martin-Breteau considers the work of Edwin B. Henderson, a prominent Black physical educator, civil rights activist, and historian of Black sports. Training Black children as athletes, Henderson felt, would work both to fortify racial pride and to dismantle racial prejudices—two necessary requirements for a successful political liberation struggle. In this way, physical education became political education.

By the end of the twentieth century, Martin-Breteau argues, racial uplift through sports had lost its emancipating power. The emphasis on the accumulation of wealth for professional athletes, as well as sports' ability to reinforce anti-Black stereotypes, had become a political problem for true collective liberation. For a marginalized group of people that has been physically excluded from the democratic process, however, sports remain a political resource. By studying the relationship between athletics and politics, Frontline Bodies renews the history of minority bodies and their power of action.

On his fifteenth birthday, in the summer of 1880, future science-fiction writer M.P. Shiel sailed with his father and the local bishop from their home in the Caribbean out to the nearby island of Redonda—where, with pomp and circumstance, he was declared the island’s king. A few years later, when Shiel set sail for a new life in London, his father gave him some advice: Try not to be strange. It was almost as if the elder Shiel knew what was coming.
Try Not to Be Strange: The Curious History of the Kingdom of Redonda tells, for the first time, the complete history of Redonda’s transformation from an uninhabited, guano-encrusted island into a fantastical and international kingdom of writers. With a cast of characters including forgotten sci-fi novelists, alcoholic poets, vegetarian publishers, Nobel Prize frontrunners, and the bartenders who kept them all lubricated while angling for the throne themselves, Michael Hingston details the friendships, feuds, and fantasies that fueled the creation of one of the oddest and most enduring micronations ever dreamt into being. Part literary history, part travelogue, part quest narrative, this cautionary tale about what happens when bibliomania escapes the shelves and stacks is as charming as it is peculiar—and blurs the line between reality and fantasy so thoroughly that it may never be entirely restored.
