Summary

You live and then you die. That's the only certainty there is, right? Using love as its guide, Proof of Life on Earth, the debut poetry collection by Degna Stone, looks at all the stops between our arrival and our departure. These poems examine matters of the heart (both the metaphorical and medical kind), of race and discrimination, of the body, mind and self – each in forensic detail, attentive and curious of what moves, shapes, and makes us alive.
In between are the landmarks which populate the rich terrain of this collection; not only of our lives through youth to adulthood, but of history, of the long shadows of empire, and of landscapes themselves - especially those of the northeast of England, evocative, rugged and monumental. Stone's deft and scalpel-sharp poetry explores human existence shaped by mortality and experience, and asks what it means to do more than survive – to live in defiance, openness and awareness.
Available since: 11/03/2022.
Print length: 72 pages.

The language of Poetry is an art that most of us attempt at some point in our lives. Although its commonplace exposure has been somewhat marginalised in today’s often fast-paced lives we all recognise good verse that can empathise with our thoughts or open us up to experience new things in new ways, to better understand and to enjoy the many strands of our lives.
But finding a starting point can be overwhelming, even off-putting, so in this series we offer up our Top 10 classic poets, who brim with talent and verse, on a range of subjects and themes that we can all enjoy.
The dreaming spires of Cambridge may be one of the great educational establishments of the Centuries. But it is also a place where the Nation’s young learn much more. Within its walls, courtyards and cloisters these 10 Poets mused and illuminated on the beauty of poetry with eager yet tender words.

"Dedicated to my mother, the Great Goddess."
Life, unpredictable, yields return for sacrifices made. Departing from the conventional path, I surrendered much to existence. Pain, a constant companion, birthed verse—each line a product of anguish turned art. In the ebb and flow of life's challenges, I found solace in writing. What emerged were rhythmic verses, transforming suffering into poetry. Some reflect, others introspect; some offer insight, and others observe. Regardless, each verse is a product of life's trials and emotions. Surprisingly, these verses multiplied over the years. Today, I share them not for accolades, but to be heard amidst the chaos. Some stories must be told, some silences shattered. I offer my rhymes openly, a reflection, a token of my journey.

    Description
A Poetic Journey from Heartbreak to Wholeness
In the quiet aftermath of love, we are left with pieces. Romantic Healing Message is a hand to hold in the dark, a lyrical guide that gathers those pieces and reveals how to mend with gold.
Structured as a profound five-act journey—through the Awakening, the Break, the Void, the Healing, and finally, the Message—this collection is more than a book of poetry. It is a conversation with your own heart. Joe Ilunjo’s intimate and vulnerable verse explores the entire spectrum of love: the dizzying heights of discovery, the crushing weight of loss, the silent reflection of absence, and the radiant dawn of self-forgiveness.
For anyone who has loved, lost, and is learning to love again—starting with themselves—this book offers a powerful affirmation: your scars are not signs of damage, but proof of your resilience. Let these words be the gentle reminder that you were never meant to stay broken; you were meant to glow.
