Sinopse

The Quarterly Smut Games are a three-day hunt where young women volunteer as sexual prey, to be pursued by an elite group of billionaires hungry for the chase, craving to claim the young women, to take them as their own for the weekend.
For the women, it's a chance at a big payday – the payment for simply participating is enough money for them to live comfortably for months, and if one manages to finish the hunt untouched by the billionaires, the payday is enormous.
And for those who are caught, an evening of rough, hard, passionate love-making is on tap: quite frankly, some of the women take part for this one reason, apart from the pay.
Except for Cassie. She's one of the best, coming off two consecutive hunts without being touched, making her the prize among prizes for hunters. Cassie decides she's had enough, doesn't intend to take part in any more, but the payday offered is too great, and she steps into one more hunt, with the best, richest chasers in the world looking to claim her as their own trophy.
Cassie also learns the rules have been altered, and temptation to take her own sensual prey may be too great for her to resist.
Can Cassie stay ahead of the hottest, best hunters in the world? Will she fall prey to their carnal desires in this titillating, scorching, shocking tale of hot, heavy, hard romance?

When both levees and governments failed in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, an organization calling itself the Common Ground Collective formed to become the largest anarchist inspired organization in modern US history. In solidarity with people in New Orleans, Common Ground built medical clinics, distributed aid, formed neighborhood assemblies and created food security through community gardens. The group also defied unjust laws by resisting home demolitions, and defended communities from white militias and police brutality.
Black Flags and Windmills—equal parts memoir, history and organizing philosophy—maps the intertwining of Common Ground co-founder scott crow’s radical experiences and ideas with Katrina’s reality, vividly illustrating how people under extraordinary circumstances built local grassroots power and collective liberation. It is a story of resisting indifference, rebuilding hope amidst collapse, and struggling against the grain to create better worlds.

Growing up in the Tennessee hills, Alvin York was equally renowned as a marksman and as a hard-drinking brawler. A dramatic New Year's conversion convinced him that killing was against God's will, and yet this shy, big-boned mountaineer single-handedly dispatched two dozen Germans and captured 132 in the closing days of World War I. He earned the Medal of Honor and a ticker tape parade but refused to cash in on his fame, insisting "Uncle Sam's uniform ain't for sale."
This succinct and gripping new account of Sgt. York's remarkable life includes details from exclusive interviews with the sergeant's three surviving children and information drawn from battlefield eyewitness reports and original film studio archives: fresh reminders of the legacy of one of America's great Christian patriots.
We learn about life through the lives of others. Their experiences, their trials, their adventures become our schools, our chapels, our playgrounds. Christian Encounters, a series of biographies from Thomas Nelson Publishers, highlights important lives from all ages and areas of the Church through prose as accessible and concise as it is personal and engaging. Some are familiar faces. Others are unexpected guests. Whether the person is D.L. Moody, Sergeant York, Saint Nicholas, John Bunyan, or William F. Buckley, we are now living in the world that they created and understand both it and ourselves better in the light of their lives. Their relationships, struggles, prayers, and desires uniquely illuminate our shared experience.

More than 5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia. By the year 2030, experts estimate that as many as 66 million people will be faced with this life-altering disease. These statistics impact millions of caregivers. Compared with all types of caregivers, those who assist someone with dementia experience the highest levels of burnout, depression, poor health, and premature death. A Dignified Life, Revised and Expanded offers hope and help.

Ten years ago, the first edition of A Dignified Life changed the way the caregiving community approached Alzheimer's disease by showing caregivers how to act as a Best Friend to the person. Firmly grounded in the latest knowledge about dementia, this expanded edition offers a wealth of tips and advice.

While medical treatment of the disease hasn't changed, our understanding and awareness of treating people in a more caring way has changed. With no cure, respectful care by effective and compassionate care partners is the only real "treatment" available. The Best Friends Approach is successful because it sustains people's connection to their world, their loved ones, and themselves. A Dignified Life shows how to bring dignity, meaning, and peace of mind to the lives of both those who have Alzheimer's and dementia and those who care for them.

The Seventymile Kid tells the remarkable account of Harry Karstens, who was the actual—if unheralded—leader of the Hudson Stuck Expedition that was the first to summit Mount McKinley in Alaska. All but forgotten by history, a young Karstens arrived in the Yukon during the 1897 Gold Rush, gained fame as a dog musher hauling U.S. Mail in Alaska, and eventually became the first superintendent of Mount McKinley National Park (now known as Denali National Park and Preserve). Aided by Karstens's own journals, longtime Denali writer and photographer Tom Walker uncovered archival information about the Stuck climb, and reveals that the Stuck "triumph" was an expedition marred by significant conflict. Without Karstens's wilderness skills and Alaska-honed tenacity, it is quite possible Hudson Stuck would never have climbed anywhere near the summit of McKinley. Yet the two men had a falling out shortly after the climb and never spoke again. In this book, Walker attempts to set the record straight about the historic first ascent itself, as well as other pioneer attempts by Frederick Cook and Judge Wickersham.

Fans of Alaska literature, American history, and mountaineering lore will love this adventurous biography of the largerthan-life "sourdough" Karstens, in which Alaska—its wilderness, its iconic mountain, and its pioneer spirit—looms large.

Paris Is Not Dead - Surviving...

The Paris of popular imagination is lined with cobblestone streets and stylish cafés, a beacon for fashionistas and well-heeled tourists. But French-American journalist Cole Stangler, celebrated for his reporting on Paris and French politics, argues that the beating heart of the City of Light lies elsewhere—in its striving, working-class districts whose residents are being priced out of their hometown today.

Paris Is Not Dead explores the past, present, and future of the City of Light through the lens of class conflict, highlighting the outsized role of immigrants in shaping the city's progressive, cosmopolitan, and open-minded character—at a time when politics nationwide can feel like they're shifting in the opposite direction. This is the Paris many tourists too often miss: immigrant-heavy districts such as the 18th arrondissement, where crowded street markets still define everyday life. Stangler brings this view of the city to life, combining gripping, street-level reportage, stories of today's working-class Parisians, recent history, and a sweeping analysis of the larger forces shaping the city.

In the tradition of Lucy Sante and Mike Davis, Paris Is Not Dead offers a bottom-up portrait of one of the world's most vital urban centers—and a call to action to Francophiles and all who care about the future of cities everywhere.
