Sinopse

"Deflection Persuasion System" explores the art of indirect influence, offering a unique approach to achieving goals by subtly guiding others' perceptions. Rather than direct confrontation, this method focuses on strategically diverting attention and leveraging cognitive biases to steer individuals toward desired conclusions. The book uncovers how understanding the psychology behind attention and decision-making can lead to more effective and ethical communication.

For example, readers will learn how calculated distractions and reframing techniques can be used to redirect focus, while suggestive language and emotional appeals can subtly guide others’ choices. The book is structured to first introduce the core concepts, then moves into specific strategies for diverting attention and subtle guidance. It draws from historical examples and psychological research to illustrate its principles.

A key element is its emphasis on ethical considerations, providing guidelines for responsible implementation and promoting transparency. This framework aims to help readers become more persuasive in both professional and personal contexts, without resorting to manipulation. Designed for anyone looking to improve their communication and negotiation skills, "Deflection Persuasion System" provides actionable advice and practical exercises.

It offers a comprehensive and systematic approach, distinguishing itself by presenting a cohesive framework for understanding and applying deflection persuasion. The book addresses the ethical concerns surrounding influence, providing guidelines for responsible use, making it a valuable resource for those seeking to persuade with integrity.

Marx started work on this book in January 1847, as can be judged from Engel's letter to Marx on January 15, 1847. By the beginning of April 1847, Marx's work was completed in the main and had gone to the press. On June 15, 1847, he wrote a short foreword.

Published in Paris and Brussels in 1847, the book was not republished in full during Marx's lifetime. Excerpts from section five of Chapter Two appeared in different years, mostly between 1872 - 1875 in papers such as La Emancipacion, Der Volksstaat, Social-Demokrat, and others. In 1880 Marx attempted to publish the Poverty of Philosophy in the French socialist newspaper L'Égalité, the organ of the French Workers' Party, but only the foreword and section one of Chapter One were published.

This translation is from the original 1847 French edition. It has been updated to also include the changes/corrections Marx made in the copy of the book he presented to N. Utina in 1876, as well as the corrections made by Frederick Engels in the second French edition and the German editions of 1885 and 1892. The first English edition of this work was published in 1900 by Twentieth Century Press.

When the Battle of Towton took place on Palm Sunday in 1461 near a small village in Yorkshire, it was the largest and bloodiest battle ever fought on English soil. Towton was one of the battles of the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars ravaging England from 1455-1487. These marked the longest period England has been in unrest, surpassing the 12th century civil war between King Stephen and Empress Matilda (Maud), which lasted 15 years.
Today, roses are a sign of love and luxury, but for over 30 years, they provided the symbols for two houses at war for control of the English throne. Thousands of people died and many more were injured fighting beneath the white rose of York and the red rose of Lancaster, and the noble families ruling England tore each other apart in a struggle that was as bitter as it was bloody. Though what followed was a period of strong rule under the Tudors monarchs, it ultimately came at a terrible cost, and even then, it was through Elizabeth of York that the Tudor line received its legitimacy. After all, while Henry VII won his throne in battle, Elizabeth of York was the daughter of King Edward IV of England, a Yorkist monarch.
Despite their limited social and economic impact, the political and personal dramas of the Wars of the Roses have ensured that they are well remembered and still part of the popular imagination.

RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner, operated by the White Star Line, that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, after striking an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making it the deadliest sinking of a single ship up to that time. It remains the deadliest peacetime sinking of an ocean liner or cruise ship. In this 1993 interview, Eva Hart, a seven year-old passenger on the Titanic, offers a vivid account of her family's unexpected journey aboard the Titanic, and her mother's unsettling premonition. As Hart said of the ship having too few lifeboats: "One life is worth more than the whole ship, surely."

In the spirit of medieval writer Chaucer, all human activity lies within the artist’s scope, the History of Man Series uses medicine as a jumping off point to explore precisely that, all history, all science, all human activity since the beginning of time. The jumping off style of writing takes the reader, the listener into worlds unknown, always returning to base, only to jump off again. History of Man are stories and tales of nearly everything.
The Second History of Man focuses mostly on bacteria and bacterial infections as the foundation, jumping off into Darwin and evolution, gin & tonics and the discovery of the first antibiotic to treat infection (and it wasn’t penicillin), visiting with those clever chaps who cook up drugs in the lab. We’ll call upon poets & poetry, celebrities like Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, and Bobby Darin, the classical music of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, the tragic story of World War II, Anne Frank and the Holocaust, tuberculosis, and a few of the rich & famous who suffered from TB, travelling back in time to the Black Death which wiped out 25 percent of humans on Earth, exploring the origins of a salon and a saloon, Columbus and the Age of Discovery, the lost generations of childhood, ending with the invention of the Internet.
