Sinopse

Nearly every day, Loki meets with Jason. But even loyal subjects can’t serve all the time. They need to eat, sleep, and bathe. That meant they had to live somewhere when they weren’t serving Loki, right? Where did Jason go when he left here?

In this tale, Fenrir searches for answers. What will he find? Or will his quest be called off on account of rain? Rain, indoors? Now we are in trouble.

The Open Boat is a short story by Stephen Crane, inspired by his own harrowing experience as a shipwreck survivor. The narrative follows four men—a captain, an oiler named Billie, a cook, and a correspondent—stranded in a small lifeboat after their ship, the Commodore, sinks off the coast of Florida. As they navigate the turbulent sea, the captain, despite being injured, directs the others while the cook bails water and the correspondent and oiler take turns rowing. They spot a lighthouse in the distance, igniting hope for rescue. However, as they approach, they realize no help is forthcoming.

It is said that books are written to bring sunshine into our dull, grey lives – to show us places we want to escape to, lives we want to live, people we want to love. But there are also stories that can only be found in the deepest, darkest corners of the library. Stories about the unexplained, of lost souls, of things that go bump before the silence. Before the screaming.
And some stories just disappear. Stories printed in old newspapers, broadcast live on the wireless, sometimes not even published at all – these are the stories you cannot find on even the dustiest of library shelves.
This follow-up volume to the bestselling Ghosts from the Library resurrects forgotten tales of the supernatural by some of the most accomplished mystery authors of all time. Close the windows. Draw the curtains. Just don’t let the lights go out…
Tony Medawar, a top editor in the realm of fiction, presents Wicked Spirits, a collection of horror and crime stories that delve into the unexplained and the supernatural. These anthologies, steeped in traditional storytelling, are a must-read for fans of detective thrillers.

In Saki's short story "Dusk," the narrative unfolds in a park at twilight, symbolically referred to as the "hour of the defeated." The protagonist, Norman Gortsby, reflects on his own sense of defeat while observing the people around him. His solitude is interrupted by the arrival of two characters: an elderly man and a well-dressed young man who appears troubled.
