Sinopsis

The Greatest Crash argues that the financial system which evolved from the early Italian bankers has now reached a roadblock.

The weight of debt already created prevents further economic expansion, while paying down the debt shrinks economies.

To escape this trap, evolution is needed. But bureaucratic design, delegated government, and group think, all combine to prevent evolution.

"Designing Your Life" by Bill Burnett, Dave Evans : Book Summary

Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life
    By Bill Burnett, Dave Evans

    About

Designing Your Life teaches you how to take a design-based approach toward your life to live better and optimize your life in every way, and in every area. The book was co-authored by Bill Burnett (one of Apple’s original designers) and Dave Evans (mechanical engineer, prev. VP of Talent for Electronic Arts). Bill and Dave also teach a class together at Stanford on how to leverage design-thinking to customize a personal + professional lifestyle optimized for maximum fulfillment. This book is based on their Stanford life-design class.

One of the most important points the authors reiterate is that anyone can design and live a joyful, purposeful life—including you. Regardless of your past, your failures, or whatever skills you believe may be holding you back, remember this: when you take a design approach to your life you will learn exactly how to evaluate your biggest challenges, reframe your thinking, and try solutions as you find what works specifically for you. This design-thinking approach takes the pressure off needing to know exactly what you want and how to get it. Instead, you try options that seem interesting, enjoy the journey, and add or subtract choices as you design your life. It leads to a dynamic, energetic, and fulfilling life where you’re always growing.

In this summary, you'll learn how to:
go from where you are right now, to where you want to go, to the type of person you must grow into in order to get there.sort through several options and choose the one that suits you best by using techniques like way-finding and prototyping.practice living a life where you can positively reframe negative situations and use them to your advantage.

Sci-fi authors, Movie-makers and futurists have been dreaming Artificial Intelligence taking over for decades now. They have been defining the new horizon of robotic technology, artificial brain and artificial intelligence for a long time. However, what was their dreams, the researchers and scientists of the twenty-first century have turned it almost into a mere reality. Artificial Intelligence nowadays has surrounded us. Almost all the technical and some of the non-technical fields are improving pretty fast, holding the hands of Artificial Intelligence. From the auto parking facility in your car to the sometimes frustrating voice assistance application in your Smartphone. From defining diseases and their medication in the healthcare sector to our education system nowadays, you name it. Almost everything that contains the word *smart* before its name is been operated with Artificial Intelligence.
True is the fact that we are not going to make robots that are self-aware like they were in the Star Wars movies in the next decade (with these capable scientists of this century, it is safe to talk only about the next decade and not more than that). However, we are already using Artificial Intelligence not only in the technological sectors but also in different sectors of society like medicine and healthcare. Even in Education. This might isn’t as mind-blowing as it seems in your Smartphone and you don’t expect the humanoid robots teaching you in your class. At least not in the next decade like we said. However, there are some cases where AI has been involved with our education system.
There are a lot of Projects where the Artificial Brains have been helping both the teachers and the students to get the maximum out in return from our education system.

Generations of Americans have regarded schools as essential for developing the knowledge and civic values necessary for sustaining democracy. Yet, as Matthew D. Nelsen argues in The Color of Civics, traditional approaches to civic education are not living up to their promise for many students, particularly students of color from disadvantaged communities.Drawing on lessons from students and teachers in Chicago, The Color of Civics reimagines the democratic purpose of civic education. Nelsen's findings challenge some of the most widely cited civic education research, arguing that the content of traditional civic education courses privileges the political experiences of white political actors, and in turn, contributes to divergent political behaviors and participatory outcomes across racial and ethnic groups. He presents a new approach to civic education that aims to foster political empowerment by centering historically-grounded conversations about current events as well as critical categories of knowledge—those that highlight the agency of marginalized groups. This approach increases rates of political participation among young people of color and heightens political empathy among white youth. Nelsen also explores how the attitudes and lived experiences of teachers drive the implementation of more empowering civic learning environments.

However, most teachers went into education because they wanted to be teachers, not leaders, so they often haven't had any training into how to lead a subject area.
This book seeks to deliver a whole range of practical solutions to the challenges that the role presents. The areas covered range from setting and communicating your vision, delivering high quality learning across all classes and developing rigorous and effective systems of self evaluation to understanding and developing a transformational leadership style.
Hugely accessible and realistic, the book also tackles some of the other critical issues that sometimes face subject leaders. Practical solutions are offered around the issues of working with under-performing colleagues as well as managing the stresses of the role.

A-ha!Working through a topic or question, a shaft of sudden inspiration hits. The cloud of fragmented ideas and thoughts clear as a whole picture begins to form coherently in your mind. What you have now worked out – in an unexpected, exciting eureka moment – will stay with you forever.
All teachers seek this experience for their students. Liz Attwell explores theories of education to argue that traditional teaching, 'filling buckets', must be replaced by dynamic, progressive teaching that promotes active learning – not just 'lighting a fire', but knowing how to lay the sticks and finding the matches too. This progressive approach seeks to create a basis for inner awakening and original insight, in order for students ultimately to come to their own a-ha moments. In A Drop of Light, Liz Attwell presents her original research into the phenomenon of a-ha moments, offering a theoretical background as well as practical advice to give teachers the tools, lesson plans, anecdotes and inspiration to bring living thinking to their own classrooms. Goethe's approach and Rudolf Steiner's pedagogical ideas make an important contribution, but Attwell advises that teachers following Steiner's philosophy should enter into dialogue with educators from other backgrounds. Working together, enlightened teachers around the world can help schools and colleges to become true learning communities.
