Sinopsis

It's a perfect day for brunch.
Leo and Marianne Brink have found the ideal spot to take their friends. With great reviews, impeccable service and an extensive menu, it seems like nothing could go wrong.
But as their meal is interrupted by a series of increasingly strange events, they come to realise they've bitten off more than they can chew.
Here We Are is the last work by Stephen Sondheim, written shortly before his death in 2021, with a book by playwright David Ives and inspired by the films of Luis Buñuel.
It was first performed in 2023 at The Shed in New York City, directed by Joe Mantello, and received its UK premiere at London's National Theatre in 2025. This first publication of the complete book and lyrics of Here We Are is accompanied by a substantial and revelatory essay by David Ives on 'Writing with Sondheim'.
'Sondheim not only dared to change musical theatre, but succeeded, forever'Guardian

Biagio Martini is a successful lawyer. But he fears thunderstorms, and the memory of what happened in the old house by the river, when he was a child, corrodes his soul. Agata Rubino, on the other hand, is a fearless and courageous woman. She fears nothing as she hunts down the one who destroyed her life. Biagio and Agata do not know each other, they have never met; they do not know that their destinies are about to intertwine in an inexorable way.

The heart is always calling us to listen intently as the seasons turn, listen intently through the wheel of the year, listen intently as each month whispers with divine intent.
When listening to these poems, I invite you to find a place where you can listen intently, a place where all things stand still and you feel the whispering of each month.
Listening intently is the path to forgiveness, empathy and compassion, the path to seeing ourselves in each other. Listen now, listen intently as each month whispers with divine intent.

"Where are you from . . . ? No—where are you from from?" It's a question every Asian American gets asked as part of an incessant chorus saying you'll never belong here, you're a perpetual foreigner, you'll always be seen as an alien, an object, or a threat.

Monica Youn's From From brilliantly evokes the conflicted consciousness of deracination. If you have no core of "authenticity," no experience of your so-called homeland, how do you piece together an Asian American identity out of Westerners' ideas about Asians? Your sense of yourself is part stereotype, part aspiration, part guilt. In this dazzling collection, one sequence deconstructs the sounds and letters of the word "deracinations" to create a sonic landscape of micro- and macroaggressions, assimilation, and self-doubt. A kaleidoscopic personal essay explores the racial positioning of Asian Americans and the epidemic of anti-Asian hate. Several poems titled "Study of Two Figures" anatomize and dissect the Asian other: Midas the striving, nouveau-riche father; Dr. Seuss and the imaginary daughter Chrysanthemum-Pearl he invented while authoring his anti-Japanese propaganda campaign; Pasiphaë, mother of the minotaur, and Sado, the eighteenth-century Korean prince, both condemned to containers allegorical and actual.

The Busybody is the most popular comedy by the eighteenth-century playwright Susanna Centlivre. The play centres on two couples trying to form a relationship against the wills of their guardians, and in a battle of wits, playing with many conventions from theatre traditions across the continent, a conclusion is eventually reached.
Like her predecessor Aphra Behn, Centlivre was immensely successful in her day, drawing huge crowds to extended runs of her numerous plays, but the stabbing male pens of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries decried her work as being louche and dangerous, and her name slowly sunk into obscurity.
This edition, published with William Hazlitt's prefatory note and extra material on Centlivre's life and writing, seeks to highlight the dexterity with which she took on the stage.

'Time turns, sets a backward course, starts for the start with speed: the fragile moments drop unravelling, reversing, unwound, back to the beginning.'
Election night. The polls predict a landslide victory. Everything is about to change.
Award-winning writer and director Robert Icke transforms Sophocles' epic tragedy into an essential and explosive political thriller.
First performed in Dutch in 2018 at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam and the Edinburgh International Festival, this arresting version of Oedipus received its English-language premiere at Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End in 2024, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, and starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville. The production won Icke the Best Director Award at the 2025 Critics' Circle Theatre Awards, as well as Best Actor and Best Actress for its leads, and transferred to Broadway in December 2025.
Robert Icke is one of the most visionary figures in theatre today, celebrated for his contemporary re-imaginings of classic texts by Shakespeare, Schiller, Chekhov, Aeschylus and Ibsen.

On and off through my life, poetry has been a refuge, allowing me to convey my moods, thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. This collection reflects the sum of my experiences-sometimes light and joyful, other times inspired by life's challenges, such as loss. I hope these poems resonate with you and offer both comfort and inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to explore my journey through words.
