Sinopsis

For hundreds of years, readers have been enchanted by the tale of Cinderella, of how a nobleman's daughter escaped a life of servitude with the help of a pumpkin, a pair of glass slippers and her Fairy Godmother. But the truth is very different from the fairytale yet no less extraordinary. Marigold and Gardenia Roche have simple dreams; to marry well and live happily ever after. Yet this is a tricky proposition when neither heralds from money nor could be considered a great beauty. But two events are about to change the lives of everyone in the tiny Kingdom of Andovia: the first is the announcement of a great ball, at which the Crown Prince has vowed to choose a bride. The second is the arrival of a widowed French nobleman and his beautiful daughter. Two events, seemingly unconnected, and yet both will have dire consequences for all – unless something is done. Marigold and Gardenia's lives are about to become entwined with the girl who would be Queen. And yet few will ever know the dangers they faced nor the sacrifices they made to save a vainglorious Kingdom from the damsel with the crocodile smile.
Every child knows the story of Cinderella. But this is the story of Marigold and Gardenia Roche – otherwise known as the Ugly Sisters. And it is no fairytale.

A feud that spans thousands of years.

There is a hatred born of betrayal and rooted deep throughout the centuries and I loathe him simply because of his ties. That will never change no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in.

They say there is a thin line between love and hate.

While bad blood may have started in our home realm of Brevala long before I was ever born, I am expected to stand strong with my people against our sworn enemies. And given that we're both immortal Light Fae, we have centuries ahead of ourselves to continue hating each other.

A clash of rivals the world never saw coming.

An unexpected favor leads us into dangerous territory as we travel from modern day Seattle, to the realm of Faere. If our families learn what we have done, we risk our safety. If we admit to ourselves what we've done, we risk our hearts. Throughout the years, we have stoked the flames of anger, but this carnal inferno might just burn us all.

Day Of Reckoning by Morton Klass opens on the moment Earth has waited almost half a century to see: the alien Roggs defeated, their former slaves now the masters of their own world. An aging resistance leader sits across from Guja Hi, the Rogg administrator who once ordered his whipping, and calmly lays out the terms—every alien must leave Earth with nothing but the cloak on their back. As the negotiations unfold, Klass reveals the hidden history of how scattered slaves became a united species, forging a new language, a binding Oath, and a sense of brotherhood stronger than any planetary border.
But victory comes with a price. The old man remembers not only the agony of the mines and the cities burned to ash, but also how the Rogg conquest forced humanity to outgrow its own divisions. With the aliens facing exile and probable death on their homeworld, he must decide whether this new, unified humanity will cling to revenge or dare to be something better than its former masters. “Day Of Reckoning” is a powerful, thoughtful story about occupation, resistance, and the difficult grace of mercy at the end of a long war.
Morton Klass (1927–2001) was an American anthropologist and writer whose brief but memorable run in mid-century science fiction included stories like “The Altruist,” “The Idealists,” “In the Beginning,” and “Day Of Reckoning,” which appeared in the June 1957 issue of Fantastic Universe. Trained at Brooklyn College and Columbia University, Klass would go on to become a respected scholar of caste, religion, and cultural change, with influential studies of communities in India and the Indo-Caribbean.

You can't cast shadows in darkness.
It's the start of my second year of graduate school at Hawthorne University. (I wasn't canned, okay?) Bryce and our dean organize an orientation meeting to recruit witches. Yep, it's time to teach Alondra's "honors" program.
Everything goes fine until that slithery snake-witch, Adder, barges into my home. She claims I'm cursing her master, Enora, haunting the dreams of her Abaddon coven. I'm not. Honest. But sometimes Alondra pops up inside me, acting outside of my control.
We hold a séance to ask the ghost possessing me to go away. I don’t see ghosts or spirits. I see evil. But you know, it’s funny, no one else seems to.
My sole mastery of necromancy might just be enough to protect Bryce and my unborn baby—or save my greatest adversary.
Cadence Hawthorne returns in this sixth book in the Hawthorne University Witch series.
Content Warning: Shadow Cast contains profanity, sex, adult situations and, of course, witchcraft.

This romantic family drama is based on the true story of an American TV actress who adopts a little Russian girl in St. Petersburg in 1994. At that time in Russia, the country was struggling to become a free market democracy. "More like the Wild West," the actress, Molly McKay, is warned. She arrives at chaotic Pulkova Airport and is immediately whisked off to the baby home to meet her new daughter. Their wonderful, sometimes crazy, sometimes harrowing adoption journey takes off from there. One major and unexpected complication: Molly discovers that Lady Law, the TV show she starred in back in the '80s in the U.S., is now a big hit in Russia. Then there are the two handsome princes, one Russian, one American, and all the other fairytale characters who help or hinder Molly and her Clementine.
