Synopsis

"Simulacrum: Exploring the Possibility of a Simulated Reality" is a thought-provoking journey into the idea that our reality may be nothing more than a computer-generated simulation. Delving into the scientific, philosophical, and cultural implications of this hypothesis, this book challenges readers to consider the nature of reality, the role of perception and consciousness, and the potential consequences of living in a virtual world. From religious and ethical considerations to depictions in science fiction and the impact of artificial intelligence, each chapter offers a deep exploration of a different facet of the simulated reality hypothesis. With clear and accessible writing, this book provides an engaging and informative introduction to a topic that is increasingly relevant in our technology-driven world.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. What if the universe itself is a symphony, and reality is composed of frequencies, rhythms, and harmonies woven into every atom? The Music of Reality invites you on a profound journey into the hidden architecture of existence, where sound, vibration, and resonance shape both matter and mind.

From the first instruments before language to the sacred harmonies of ancient cultures, this audiobook explores how music and frequency have guided human evolution, consciousness, and our connection to the cosmos. Discover how breath becomes rhythm, how silence frames sound, and why music moves us in ways science is only beginning to understand.

With chapters that traverse sacred traditions, the physics of vibration, emotional resonance, memory, and even the possibility of a universal music scale that unites life across the cosmos, this work blends science, spirituality, and creativity into a single, resonant vision of reality.

The Music of Reality is both a meditation and an exploration - revealing that the universe doesn’t just contain music. The universe is music.

What can we really do about the climate emergency?

The inconvenient truth is that we are causing the climate crisis with our carbon intensive lifestyles and that fixing – or even just slowing – it will affect all of us. But it can be done.
In Net Zero the economist Professor Dieter Helm addresses the action we would all need to take, whether personal, local, national or global, if we really wanted to stop causing climate change.
Net Zero is Professor Dieter Helm’s measured, balanced view of how we stop causing climate change by adopting a net zero strategy of reducing carbon emissions and increasing carbon absorption. It is a rational look at why the past 30 years efforts has failed and why and how the next 30 years can succeed. It is a vital book for anyone who hears the clamour of Extinction Rebellion and other ecological activists, but wonders what they can actually do.
Helm's Net Zero is a comprehensive exploration of the climate crisis, covering everything from the science of global warming to the political and social implications of environmental conservation. It's a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the role of technology, agriculture, and public administration in achieving a net zero future.
For fans of Isabella Tree (Wilding), Vaclav Smil (Size), Bill Gates (Source Code), Linda J. Lear (Under the Sea Wind), and Rachel Carson (The Edge of the Sea).

Building on the foundation laid by Moshe Feldenkrais, Thomas Hanna's groundbreaking work completely redefines the body's potential for withstanding decline. His gentle program for the mind and body proves once and for all that so many problems we accept as inevitable over time -- chronic stiffness, bad back, chronic pain, fatigue, and, at times, even high blood pressure -- need never occur if we maintain conscious control of nerve and muscle, replacing Sensory-Motor Amnesia with Sensory-Motor Awareness. The good news of Somatic Exercise is that most people simply do not have to become captives of age or injury. Once learned, this lifelong program can help almost anyone maintain the pleasures of a supple, healthy body indefinitely, with only a five-minute routine once a day.

Saving Ryan is the inspiring story by physician-scientist Dr. Emil Kakkis about his journey to develop a new, first-ever treatment for an ultra-rare genetic disease called MPS. The scientist had great challenges getting grant and industry support for this rare disease despite the solid science behind doing the treatment. Simultaneously across the country, Mark Dant was in a quest to save his 9-year-old son, Ryan, afflicted by MPS for which there was no cure. Through extraordinary persistence, and with a clock-ticking on Ryan’s declining health, Mr. Dant eventually learns of Dr. Kakkis and his work, whose enzyme replacement therapy could potentially treat Ryan successfully. With renewed hope of saving his son’s life, Mr. Dant turns his attention to fundraising through his own Ryan Foundation to support the continued development of the life-saving treatment. Through an extraordinary series of obstacles and heartaches, Dr. Kakkis develops a successful treatment and ultimately gains the required support of a biotech company to complete the project. Despite early success treating MPS patients, the FDA’s abruptly changing policies caused great uncertainty as to whether the therapy would ever get approved – leading to a dramatic showdown at an FDA Advisory Committee meeting.
