“You can always be a helper.”
Liza Larkin, a socially aberrant pathology resident, relies on these words of her late father to guide her through a world she doesn’t feel a part of. If not for his training over the years and her psychiatrist’s ongoing care, she might be in jail—or worse.
So when her colleague, Megan, worries something awful has happened to her aunt, Liza does what she has learned to do. She helps. She drives Megan to Boston to look for the woman. It doesn’t take long. Megan’s aunt lies dead in her condo, in what is soon ruled a freakish accident.
But Liza doesn’t buy it. She suspects foul play, and with a formal police investigation now off the table, she’ll hunt for the murderer herself, even if it means coloring outside moral lines yet again.
Because justice should always be served.

The Hunter Island Adventure is a fun-filled fantastic non-stop adventure that occurs (chronologically) roughly one year before the events of the best-selling novel, Pulp Heroes - More Than Mortal. This wild tale tells the story of what happens when four kidnapped women (friends and relatives of the main pulp hero characters in the Pulp Heroes trilogy) prove to be much more trouble than their captors expected.
(The Pulp Heroes sagas are epic adventures spanning two centuries in time and linking the incredible lives of history's most popular Victorian Age adventurers of the 1800's with the greatest action heroes of the Pulp Era and an assortment of well-known, real-life figures.)

Charlie Henry is the proud new owner of the Three Balls pawnshop, having recently returned Stateside from special-ops work in Iraq. The transition back to normal life seems to be going smoothly for him and his Army buddy and co-owner of the shop, Gordon Sweeney—until Gina, Charlie's childhood friend, gets shot in a transaction for information from the previous owner of Three Balls. Gordon rushes to help Gina as she bleeds on the sidewalk, while Charlie roars off on a chase to catch the shooter. The shooter gets away, and as they dig deeper, they find that the shooting has to do with Howard Baza, the previous owner of the pawnshop, and his rather questionable morals. The Albuquerque Police Department reluctantly lets the two ex-soldiers lend a hand with the investigation. Along the way they get tangled up in gang rivalries and led astray by false identities. They discover that nothing is what it seems, and almost no one is who they appear to be.
