Sinopse

"Wow mother. I was so frightened. There was this man who attempted to go after Roman and afterward one more wolf rushed at me and stuck me to the ground. The man continued to say that I was on his property and that I had a place with him now however at that point Roman said I was his mate and that he could never have me so the man took off and I was so frightened." Lexi cries into her mother's shoulder.
"You're OK Lexi. Nothing will at any point hurt you." She murmurs to Lexi. Heather takes Lexi inside and Maxon and I follow. Two sets of garments lay collapsed on the table that we both changed into. Heather descends before long without Lexi. "She's sleeping at present. Despite the fact that she was depleted it consumed a huge chunk of time to quiet her sufficiently down that she'd nod off."

The Daughter of Time is a 1951 detective novel by Josephine Tey, concerning a modern police officer's investigation into the alleged crimes of King Richard III of England. It was the last book Tey published in her lifetime, shortly before her death. In 1990 it was voted number one in The Top 100 Crime Novels of All Time list compiled by the British Crime Writers' Association (CWA).
    Plot:
Scotland Yard Inspector Alan Grant (a character who also appears in five other novels by the same author) is feeling bored while confined to bed in hospital with a broken leg. Marta Hallard, an actress friend of his, suggests he should amuse himself by researching a historical mystery. She brings him some pictures of historical characters, aware of Grant's interest in human faces. He becomes intrigued by a portrait of King Richard III. He prides himself on being able to read a person's character from his appearance, and King Richard seems to him a gentle, kind and wise man. Why is everyone so sure that he was a cruel murderer?
With the help of other friends and acquaintances, Grant investigates Richard's life and the case of the Princes in the Tower, testing out his theories on the doctors and nurses who attend to him. Grant spends weeks pondering historical information and documents with the help of Brent Carradine, a likable young American researcher working in the British Museum.[2] Using his detective's logic, he comes to the conclusion that the claim of Richard being a murderer is a fabrication of Tudor propaganda, as is the popular image of the King as a monstrous hunchback.

    Crime.
Our society's great constant. That which started as a small infection quickly mutated into a vicious disease that preyed upon the weak and gullible.
Crime's rapid development inevitably birthed our justice system to curtail the mass populace into adherence. An adherence disguised as law and order; a moral standing so that all can live in harmony and peace. And thus that control grew more powerful and the people willingly surrendered their freedoms for the illusion of security and protection.
As our nation expanded and developed crime persisted, lingering in the shadow of our monstrous city buildings, thriving among the less fortunate and spreading like a sickness throughout humanity. Crime's corroding nature has even seeped into the law and order that was first designed to keep it at bay. Our justice system has now become but a tool for crime to use to decay civilisation.
As an officer of the law, in the service of this great city of Me'tra, I try to stem the unending force of crime, but I am only one person. What could I possibly hope to achieve?

The blade slices deeply into her neck, and arterial spray sweeps across her vision. She puts her hand over the wound, feeling the fight already leaving her. In a moment of surrender, she must believe something marvelous will come after she takes her last breath. Otherwise, she’ll be left with nothing but the blackness that is edging in.
After therapist Sidney Callahan is found dead in her home office, Detective Madison Knight drives out to her remote cabin. Also used as a spiritual retreat to explore past-life regression, the otherwise peaceful property stands out in stark contrast to the messy murder scene. With signs of a struggle but no forced entry, Madison must figure out who would want to harm this woman.
Madison soon discovers that Sidney had planned to release a book featuring her patients’ past lives, and she suspects one of them didn’t want their secrets exposed. But as Madison and her partner, Terry Grant, dig deeper, they make the shocking discovery that the therapist had her own dark past.
As they continue their investigation, Madison and Terry must navigate a web of lies and danger. But just as they are inching closer to the truth, someone tries to stop them with deadly force. Will they be able to bring justice to Sidney? Or will they become the next victims?
