Synopsis

Distraught after the immense loss she has just suffered, Zia decides to continue her long initiatory journey despite pain and obstacles. She becomes aware of the fabulous heritage left by Lidova and realizes the immense expectations of the people who welcome her. Nevertheless, she must go through with her promise made to the old healer of the Haganitas: to deposit the amulet-totem in the sacred cave. Alone, she faces perilous mountains crossings and almost loses her life. Determined, she does not hesitate to venture into the bowels of Mother Earth with her dog Cani. Her incredible will to fight and her energy to face adversity, however, will be reduced to nothing.

At the end of the great plains of Central Europe and the fatalities that befall him, Kadmeron finally discovers a village where drawn signs seem to punctuate events and embellish all aspects of existence. This unknown people masters new techniques that fascinate him. He observes the first cultivated fields and begins to unlock the secrets that have taken him across thousands of miles, together with the earthly manifestation of his protective spirit, the horse Potac. But the cave of animal spirits calls him. He too must respect his shamanic commitment to the bison mother. In order to avoid at all costs the repetition of the great deer’s curse , he goes in search of this sacred place, hidden by topography, vegetation, and protected by ferocious predators.

An incredible coincidence finally brings these two young people together. They learn little by little to talk to each other, to know each other. A complicity is established as well as a reciprocal desire, tinged with respect and curiosity for this Other who has come from so far away. But this young couple must find the strength to resist adversity and prejudice. Will they be able to face the weight of customs, ignorance and pride? Will their budding love resist the ambitions of those around them?

Heirs of the Stone Age – a series that explores the challenges of the Mesolithic period

More than six millennia before our era, Mesolithic Europe was shaken by climatic cataclysms. Torrential rains fall on the world, the Mediterranean Sea invades the coasts. The waters of the Atlantic Ocean rise several meters because of the massive melting of polar glaciers, destroying villages and driving terrified populations away. Although the eastern part of the continent seems less affected, the Black Sea continues to fill up and gain ground on the coast.

It is the beginning of a period of forced migration that places humanity in a terrible situation. Paradoxically poorly documented and controversial, this little-known era of our prehistory opens up the prospects for the fabulous revolution in agriculture and the profound changes that will follow in human societies during the Neolithic era. And in fact, the extraordinary climatic, sociological and cultural constraints will force our ancestors to take drastic and courageous measures. Deeply… human. A message from the past for the profound changes taking place nowadays and which force us to react… How were our ancestors organized to deal with the waters’ fury and global warming? With what technologies did they manage to survive? What alliances did they have to forge in order to overcome these terrible catastrophes? What beliefs did they use to give them the strength and the motivation to continue to fight and pass on their experience to future generations?

These are the questions the « Heirs of the Stone Age » humbly attempt to answer. This fiction series is based on certain archaeological discoveries uncovered in Eurasia and, of course, on the assumptions and imagination of its authors.

We hope that the adventures of our heroes and heroines from a distant past will help you reflect on the unprecedented challenges facing the people of this wonderful biosphere we share today. We, who are their heirs.

A story with a compassionate eye, the heartwarming vibes of A Man Called Ove mixed with the high emotional stakes of Anne Tyler, Cattail Lane is an uplifting family drama about overcoming the past and the extraordinary power of second chances

Nick Ackerman’s life is an aimless circuit between his uninspiring job and the local bar until a note from a stranger changes everything. He learns he has a 14-year-old son, Billy, whose grandmother can no longer look after him. Railroaded into fatherhood, Nick takes in the resentful Billy and shuffles Grandma Evie off to the nearby dementia ward at Prairie View Manor. Things get off to a rocky start: father and son are little more than strangers, and Nick struggles with his new caretaking role while Billy can’t seem to let go of his. Luckily, there is Sarah, a housekeeper in the dementia ward and the single mother of an energetic and offbeat five-year-old. It is Sarah who Nick turns to as a parental role model and maybe something more.

Nick, Sarah, and Billy all carry their own betrayals and disappointments and are used to keeping others at a distance, but during the dog days of summer, they are given a chance to leave past hurts behind and find a new kind of family.

Compassionate and closely observed, Cattail Lane is a moving exploration of forgiveness, second chances, and the everyday moments where we might find our way to one another.
