Sinopse

The first Nativity Scene was a live one created by Saint Francis of Assisi in 1223. He wanted to promote the reverence of the Christian family and had villagers with animals recreate the birth of Jesus.
This became wildly popular all over the Christian world, but especially in Europe where it gets colder in the winter the further north you get. So there is a limit to this kind of performance.
Naturally it then evolved with human size figures mainly out-doors and with smaller figurines you can have in-doors and which can be there for a longer period without nourishment or sleep. Please see our other books on Nativities, in Spain and Central Europe,
We wish all a Merry Christmas and hope you will enjoy our selection of photos.

Confusion about spiritual things is widespread. Spiritual confusion produces broken lives. This book clarifies important spiritual truth, so that clarity will overcome confusion, so that broken lives will be made whole.
The purpose of this book is not to present new insight, but rather to present old truth in a clear and simple way for easy understanding.
This book covers many important topics. Other authors have written whole books on topics which are covered here in just a couple pages. Don’t expect exhaustive coverage of any topic; but do expect a lot to be covered in a few pages.
Per the Introduction: "May the words on these pages help you know God’s love for you, understand God better, and love God deeply."

An Introduction to the Biblical Theology of Hebrews
The book of Hebrews can be intimidating for modern-day Christians due to its connection to Old Testament text. However, once understood, this New Testament epistle offers great insights into the superiority and sufficiency of Jesus—rightly justifying his place as high priest.
In this addition to the New Testament Theology series, scholar Dennis E. Johnson highlights the main biblical-theological themes of Hebrews. Johnson explores how Jesus fulfills perfect priesthood by becoming the covenant mediator and the trailblazer who leads his people into a better inheritance. Hebrews calls Christian believers, both of the early church and today, to hold fast to their faith even when faced with persecution and exclusion. It reminds us to cling to the eternal Son who offered his body and blood as the everlasting sacrifice for our sin.

    The Old Testament as Literature...

Tremper Longman has studied and taught the Old Testament and its interpretation for four decades. Now, in a planned three-book project, he presents his mature thoughts on three ways of approaching the Old Testament text: as literature, as history, and as a source of theology.

This first volume explores the importance of reading the Old Testament as literature. Each culture tells its stories and writes its poems in different ways. To read and understand the Old Testament texts the way the ancient authors intended, we need to be aware of the conventions of Hebrew storytelling and poetry that they used. In part 1, dealing with literary theory, Longman investigates how texts create meaning, the history of the study of the Old Testament as literature, and how genre dictates reading strategy. He explores the Hebrew conventions for both narrative and poetry in conversation with contemporary literary approaches. Parts 2 and 3 delve into practice, using the tools gained in part 1 to analyze and interpret a variety of Old Testament narratives and poetry.

Longman's accessible writing and balanced judgments make this book suitable for the classroom and the church.

Turning the yellowed page, fingers trembling, Tabitha studied the handwritten mysteries of the founder and sighed under the gravity of her awesome challenge…
The secret city of Isolation is hidden behind a near-impenetrable wall of desert sand and blazing sun. Founded a generation ago as an analog oasis from the digital insanity outside, its peace and tranquility have been in peril since the founder’s death. When twins Tabitha and Tobias endanger Isolation with a visit to the outside world, they are faced with an impossible challenge. They must race to recover the Overseer’s Handbook, a stolen artifact that holds together their way of life, navigating a world wide web of digital deception and deadly dangers they don’t understand.
Comparable to the intrigue of City Of Ember, the imagination of A Wrinkle In Time, and the heart of The Chronicles of Narnia, Isolation is a message-driven thrill ride for YA readers of Christian Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
In Isolation by Lucas Kitchen, readers will explore the hazards of screen-time addiction and the power of healthy digital habits, faith, and Christian evangelism.

I never questioned my decision to marry Faith the day she turned eighteen.
She needed to get out of her situation at home and, at nineteen, I already knew everything about everything, so in my mind it made perfect sense. We’d been pals for years.
    I loved her.
    She had no idea.
But she was desperate for somebody to rescue her, and a marriage of convenience with me was a better—safer—choice than anything else she could find.
Since I lived away at college, no one even had to know. It worked great until the end of the semester. And then she walked out.
    And I let her.
I occasionally do some digging, just to check that she’s okay. And every now and then I think about the divorce papers I drew up but never sent.
Now she’s here. Literally on my doorstep. Begging me, once again, for help.
And I hate that I still love her.
    Even after fourteen years.
