Sinopsis

Luna, a curious moth, is captivated by the moon’s ethereal glow. One night, she sets off on an adventurous journey to reach it, soaring through dark forests and glowing fields. Along the way, she encounters a variety of wise insects who share their wisdom about dreams, patience, and the importance of appreciating the present. As Luna’s adventure unfolds, she learns that sometimes the beauty of a dream lies in the pursuit itself and that some things are meant to be admired from afar. This heartwarming story teaches children about balance, ambition, and the importance of living in the moment.

A colloquial, easy-to-understand English translation, this sutra gives simple, direct instructions about how we sentient beings in this chaotic, troubled and distressed era and world can make close, direct connections with a great enlightened being – Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva – to be saved, protected, guided and blessed. The Buddha foresaw the suffering and chaos in this Dharma-Declining Period that we are now living in and thus entrusted us to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
“Ksitigarbha” is a Sanskrit word meaning “earth treasury”, reflecting the hidden treasures in the minds of all sentient beings, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s specialty and merit is His “power of vow” – He vowed not to become a Buddha until all beings, including those in hell, are rescued.
The narrator, Paul, is an inmate who was under maximum security incarceration. He has been rescued by the Three Jewels and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva multiple times when faced with distress, troubles in mind, critical illness and life-death issues. We are moved by his serious, persistent vows to change himself and cultivate inwardly according to the Buddha and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s teachings. These experiences have helped and inspired us and many Buddhist practitioners all over.
This unprecedented project would not have been possible without the gracious, generous support of the state corrections department as well as the superintendent, officers, guards and staff of the corrections center. Due to the limitations of the recording circumstances and the narrator’s health, there are a few places where the audio does not exactly reflect the printed version, there may be background noise or the voice may sound different at times.
As Mahayana Buddhists, we are most grateful to have the chance to present this recording to share with you all. From our experience, reading/copying this sutra helps to obtain calm, peace and inspiration; may your listening to it also bring the same.

In Gaolaozhuang Village, Mr. Gao wanted to find a son-in-law for his youngest daughter but ended up with a pig demon. Many were invited to subdue the demon but all failed. When Xuanzang and the monkey heard that there was a demon in the house on their way to the west, the monkey volunteered to help. The monkey met the pig demon and fought him out of his cave. When the pig demon realized that Xuanzang and the monkey were on a scripture pilgrimage, he immediately revealed to the monkey that he had been waiting for them after receiving instructions from Guanyin. The skeptical monkey demanded the pig demon burn his cave and took him to meet Xuanzang. Xuanzang untied the pig demon and took him as his second disciple. It turned out that the pig demon had been a heavenly marshal but was banished to the earthly world for his misbehavior and was given the religious name "Wuneng" by Guanyin. He was also called "Pigsy."

A classic since first published almost 100 years ago, these nostalgic and whimsical poems bring back the innocence of childhood.
The poems perfectly enter the thinking of a child. Who mends the soldier's socks? Why does a dormouse keep his eyes shut? Are Brownies tickly? A. A. Milne's observation of children's behavior shows in such poems as "Disobedience" (Where has James Morrison's mother gone?), "Jonathan Jo" (who has everything you may need and only wants a smile as payment!), and "At The Zoo" (where you can find biffalo-buffalo-bisons and bidgers, badgers, and bodgers!)
Each sweet and silly poem is written with the rhythm and rhyme that young children love.
Knowing how important language development is to success in school, educator AnnaLisa Bodtker created alenbeebooks. Audiobooks enhance listening skills, increase vocabulary, and allow children to enjoy books above their reading levels. Alenbeebooks selects well written stories and poems, that are narrated in an engaging manner, to promote good language skills.
