Sinopse

Two honeymooners take a stranger onto their yacht—with terrifying consequences—in this “superb” psychological thriller (The New York Times).  Rae and Ingram are nineteen days out of the Panama Canal, sailing slowly across the wide, flat Pacific on the Saracen, when they find Hughie Warriner in his dinghy. He was on a pleasure cruise in his yacht, the Orpheus, he says, when food poisoning killed his passengers and his ship began to sink. After an alleged ten days of desperately fighting to stay afloat he spied the Saracen, and rowed to his salvation. Finding the stranded yacht, against Warriner’s wishes, Ingram boards the stranded Orpheus. There he finds Warriner’s passengers—very much alive, and hungry for revenge against the man who attacked them and left them to drown. Ingram tries to get back to his ship, but is too late. Warriner escapes with his yacht, taking Rae hostage, and Ingram hasno means to save them but tattered sails, a sinking ship, and rage that burns hotter than the merciless Pacific sun.

“Fang” Mulheisen joins forces with his nemesis to uncover a terrorist plot—from “the best-kept secret of hard-boiled crime fiction connoisseurs” (The New York Times Book Review).   When a bomb goes off at an environmental protest, Detroit police detective “Fang” Mulheisen’s own mother is among the wounded. He turns in his badge to care for her—but once she recovers, his instincts drive him to return to the case on his own.   Detective Sergeant Mulheisen soon learns that his longtime nemesis, hired gun Joe Service, is also searching for the bombers on behalf of the Lucani—a rogue group of skilled agents who do what the law cannot. Now, working alongside a killer he’s hunted for years, Mulheisen delves into a world of well-armed militias, government secrets, and hidden agendas.   In this “thoroughly entertaining” thriller of domestic terror, two of Jon A. Jackson’s most dogged—and dangerous—characters pair up to deliver everything readers expect from this master of the genre (Booklist).   “No Man’s Dog is an exhilarating tour of the potentialities of domestic terrorism where you begin to understand Homeland Security as a Ping-Pong ball of dread and paranoia.” —Jim Harrison, author of Legends of the Fall   “Razor-sharp.” —Kirkus Reviews

When new evidence arises in a cold case, can Professor Hopkins refrain from delving into a newfound world of corruption, vice, and danger?

Stanley Hopkins cannot resist the invitation from a honey-voiced US attorney asking him to track down the source of photographs of a young dance major abducted five years earlier from her apartment in Clarkeston, Georgia. A journalist has stumbled across newly posted pictures of Diana Cavendish on the Internet, apparently taken just days before she disappeared with her boyfriend.

While Stanley deals with vexing personal problems and scrambles to identify the owner of the website that acquired the photos, small-town journalist James Murphy and federal prosecutor Melanie Wilkerson uncover new evidence of the crime-and the cover-up-that ranges far beyond the confines of the victim's quaint Georgia college town.

This second installment of the Clarkeston Chronicles presents new challenges for Hopkins that take him far from the California base he established in Death in Eden and introduces him to a fascinating group of collaborators who will anchor him in small-town Georgia.

Just when you thought you could trust the robots again…
A senator's son is strangled by a synthoid in AsiaTown and, just like two other victims, tattooed with an indecipherable barcode.
Jake and Kim, his new partner, battle political corruption, the Chinese Triad, and Internal Affairs, discovering a disturbing Fourth Law of Robotics as they decode the tattoos to stop the deviant series of murders.
"It might not make sense, but the beloved Media tags it 'Murder by Munchausen.' For a price, there are hackers out there who will reprogram a synthoid to do your dirty work. The bad news: no fingerprints or DNA left at the crime scene. The good news—at least for us—is that they’re like missiles: once they hit their target, they’re usually as harmless as empty brass. The trick is to get them before they melt down their core OS data, so you can get the unit into forensics for analysis and, hopefully, an arrest." [excerpt from Murder by Munchausen]
