Summary

The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain is a novella by Charles Dickens. The story focuses on Professor Redlaw and those close to him. Redlaw is a teacher of chemistry who often broods over wrongs done in his past. Redlaw's phantom twin proposes to him to forget the sorrow, wrong, and trouble he have done before. Redlaw is hesitant at first, but finally agrees. The ghost with the help of magic; erases the professor's memory completely. The professor is now at peace with his life because he has no hint about the pain that he went through. But now he faces another major dilemma…
