Synopsis

It is summer in small town Havenport. Protected from the world by her devoted mother, fifteen-year-old June is content and completely self-absorbed. Her biggest concern is where she will be holidaying this year.
When June's father reappears after twelve years in Australia, she is thrust abruptly into a different life: new house, town, school. She soon suspects that she does not know the full story about her father, and when she meets Tony Townsend, he and his London life suddenly promise a glamorous and alluring alternative . . .
Other People is a compelling coming-of-age novel, told with Dale's trademark wit, observation and canny dissection of relationships.

🧶 Yarn shop owner and knitting instructor Wooly Winthrop is hosting her weekly knitting class when the town's most demanding customer is found strangled with a rare, hand-dyed yarn skein from her own inventory. The police suspect a crime of passion, but Wooly notices the yarn has been deliberately tangled in a complex knot used by sailors and the victim's knitting project contains a coded message in Morse code via knit and purl stitches. With her shop's reputation unraveling faster than a cheap sweater, Wooly must cast on her own investigation. Assisted by her loyal knitting group and the handsome sheep farmer who supplies her wool, Wooly uncovers a tangled web involving yarn smuggling, rare breed sheep theft, and a counterfeit yarn operation. From suspicious dye lots that reveal chemical anomalies to fiber content that doesn't match the label, every skein tells a story. But when Wooly discovers the victim was blackmailing local crafters about their yarn stash secrets and pattern thefts, she realizes the killer is protecting a scheme more twisted than any cable knit. With the annual Fiber Festival approaching and the real culprit still spinning lies, Wooly must weave together the clues before her own thread gets permanently cut.

Prettiest garden contest. How delightful…or deadly!
I thought judging the Willow Waters garden contest would be fun. A nice way to get to know a few more of my neighbors in this beautiful Cotswold village. I’d get to see how the best gardens grew, maybe even nab a few tips for my own garden. I did not expect the competition to be to the death. Literally.
I’m Peony Bellefleur, and I own Bewitching Blooms. I chose to be a florist for all the positive reasons you can imagine: people love flowers. They speak a language we all understand. Fresh blooms perk up an invalid, add celebration to a wedding, and welcome new babies (especially when I’ve added a bit of witch’s magic to my bouquets).
I agreed to judge the garden competition for the same reasons. Joy and happiness. Well, that was a mistake.
Between missing persons, interfering gnomes, and a full moon celebration that goes wrong, it’s been a busy time. Come join me and my unusual friends in my latest adventure.
Luck of the Iris is book four in the Village Flower Shop Cozy Mystery series. Each book can be listened to as a standalone, though it’s better to listen to them in order. There’s no violence, gore, or sex in these novels, just good clean murderous fun with some magically quirky characters

A Falling of Angels is the second part of the Sam Holloway Trilogy of military, action/adventure audiobooks by W T Delaney. The story unfolds against the backdrop of the western world's current struggle against Islamic terrorism. It's London in 2019 and the Islamic State has crumbled, and a team of British-born jihadists is on its way home with revenge and mass murder in mind. When a British agent within Daesh reveals a suicide bomb plot, Samantha Holloway, an ex-British Army Intelligence Corps operator, and her team of former Special Forces soldiers, are contracted by the Security Services to help. Sam's team must race to prevent the attack against the gripping backdrop of a secret, complex, and morally dubious CIA plot, to locate and capture the terrorist mastermind. Has Sam's team been told the truth as the clock ticks towards an attack on the heart of government? All three interlinked novels are based against a factual historical backdrop. The team works together again in the final book of the series An Evil Shadow Falls. The author has drawn on his own experiences gathered while working as an intelligence officer in both Iraq and Afghanistan to craft the stories. The narrator served with him. ***** Five stars again for Delaney.***** I listened to this in two sessions.***** Brilliant, Delaney's background nails the authenticity once again.***** This audiobook is as gripping as the first. ***** Delaney is a tour de force! I literally couldn't put this book down. He makes the complex murky world of counterintelligence infinitely entertaining. Loved it!
