Sinopse

In Voices of Forgotten Temples, young Kaelis stumbles upon a hidden doorway in his grandfather’s library that transports him to a long-forgotten temple. Guided by the gentle spirit Arivelle, he ventures through echoing halls where statues whisper ancient tales and glowing murals shine with living color. Joined by the mischievous sprite Ramiel and the wise storyteller Zahara, Kaelis deciphers stone-carved puzzles, witnesses rituals honoring earth, water, and light, and learns lessons of courage, compassion, and hope. Each chamber reveals a piece of sacred wisdom lost to time, inspiring Kaelis to bring these voices of the past back to life for a new generation.

He That Hath Wings by Edmond Hamilton - The story of a modern Icarus — David Rand was a freak of nature, a glorious, winged freak, who had experienced the freedom of the sky and could no longer be tied to the ground.
Doctor Harriman paused in the corridor of the maternity ward and asked, "What about that woman in 27?"
There was pity in the eyes of the plump, crisply dressed head nurse as she answered, "She died an hour after the birth of her baby, doctor. Her heart was bad, you know."
The physician nodded, his spare, clean shaven face thoughtful. "Yes, I remember now — she and her husband were injured in an electrical explosion in a subway a year ago, and the husband died recently. What about the baby?"
The nurse hesitated. "A fine, healthy little boy, except– "
    "Except what?"
"Except that he is humpbacked, doctor."
Doctor Harriman swore in pity. "What horrible luck for the poor little devil! Born an orphan, and deformed, too." He said with sudden decision, "I'll look at the infant. Perhaps we could do something for him." But when he and the nurse bent together over the crib in which red-faced little David Rand lay squalling lustily, the doctor shook his head. "No, we can't do anything for that back. What a shame!"
David Rand's little red body was as straight and clean-lined as that of any baby ever born — except for his back.

Before Eden by Arthur C. Clarke - Venus wasn't the virgin planet Mankind had always assumed. It was simply that we got there too soon.
"I guess," said Jerry Garfield, cutting the engines, "that this is the end of the line." With a gentle sigh, the underjets faded out; deprived of its air-cushion, the scout-car Rambling Wreck settled down upon the twisted rocks of the Hesperian Plateau.
There was no way forward; neither on its jets nor its tractors could S.5—to give the Wreck its official name—scale the escarpment that lay ahead. The South Pole of Venus was only thirty miles away, but it might have , been on another planet. They would have to turn back, and retrace their four-hundred-mile journey through this nightmare landscape.
The weather was fantastically clear, with visibility of almost a thousand yards. There was no need of radar to show the cliffs ahead; for once, the naked eye was good enough. The green auroral light, filtering down through clouds that had rolled unbroken for a million years, gave the scene an underwater appearance, and the way in which all distant objects blurred into the haze added to the impression. Sometimes it was easy to believe that they were driving across a shallow sea-bed, and more than once Jerry had imagined that he had seen fish floating overhead.
"Shall I call the ship, and say we’re turning back?" he asked. "Not yet," said Dr. Hutchins. "I want to think."
Jerry shot an appealing glance at the third member of the crew, but found no moral support there. Coleman was just as bad; although the two men argued furiously half the time, they were both scientists and therefore, in the opinion of a hard-headed engineer-navigator, not wholly responsible citizens. If Cole and Hutch had bright ideas about going forward, there was nothing he could do except register a protest.
