Sinopsis

Race Williams thought he had seen it all until he came face to face with the mystery of The Tag Murderer: the killer who left metal emblems pinned to each of his victims' corpses. Solving the case is only made more complicated when The Flame, Race's femme fatale, becomes entangled in the mystery: what's her role? And is Race in her crosshairs too? One of the best adventures in the Race Williams series. Story #20 in the Race Williams series.

Carroll John Daly (1889–1958) was the creator of the first hard-boiled private eye story, predating Dashiell Hammett's first Continental Op story by several months. Daly's classic character, Race Williams, was one of the most popular fiction characters of the pulps, and the direct inspiration for Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer.

Space weather scientists in Northeast Canada have spotted holes opening in Earth's magnetosphere. Now a massive, deadly eruption of solar radiation is barreling toward the planet at one million miles per hour. With only three days before impact, the president of the United States desperately turns to two unlikely heroes for help: inventor Calder Sinclair and physicist-turned-news-correspondent Allie Armendariz.

As they and the world focus on the looming disaster from space, someone is secretly plotting to wreak havoc globally on the ground. If successful, the fiendish plan will hurl modern civilization back to the nineteenth century.

Guillen skillfully weaves heart-racing suspense with deeper questions about the profound consequences of scientific innovation, both intended and unintended. As his heroes search for answers, they run headlong into questions about human origins and the meaning and purpose of life and death.

Racing the clock, Calder and Allie battle personal demons (as well as each other), all the while inching closer to a staggering truth foretold in ancient literature that decisively spells out the world's future—the Null Prophecy.

Real love, much like the justice system, is messy.
Fresh out of jail, Russell Siriano, boss of the Siriano Organization, is kidnapped. He was supposed to be safe in U.S. Marshal Kelly Chambers’s custody. Now it’s her responsibility to solve the strange crime. Using the lessons Kelly’s “Uncle” Frank taught her, she knows she must track down the perpetrators before the Siriano family finds them first.
While Kelly navigates media embarrassment and accidentally falls for the only reporter willing to hear her side of the story, rival crime boss Pablo Jimenez takes control of the Siriano Family's neighborhood. As Pablo seeks to establish himself as a leader, second-in-command Flavia Sanchez fears Pablo is forcing them in the wrong direction. He's made the first move in a war they're not prepared to win.
Close by, Maurizio “Maggie” DiMaggio was only back to sniff out a rat, but with his mentor missing, the loyal henchman vows to bring his boss home. Will Maggie call off the search when a dark secret comes to the surface or will unconventional justice take down Russell Siriano before anyone else has a chance?
“Trouble Weighs a Ton,” the much anticipated follow-up to "Too Late to Say Goodbye" in the Tulsa Underwood Trilogy, is a gritty and suspenseful crime novel about family and fatherhood. It answers the question: How far are people really willing to go for the ones they love?

Free-spirited Tracy cheers when her stuffy husband, Drew, loosens up enough to rearrange the nose of his boorish boss, Ian Dragger. But Drew's timing couldn't be worse. When Dragger is found floating face down in the Eatons' pool, deader than disco, Drew is the one that wily Detective Patti Garcia zeroes in on as her prime suspect. Still, Tracy expects to clear her sweetie in short order. But that's before help arrives -- in form of her own mother, over-the-top movie actress Martha Collins, and her rigid-with-dignity mother-in-law, Charlotte Eaton. And when the mothers get together, the fireworks go off. Obstacles mount higher when Drew's ex-flame, attorney CeeCee Payne, deals herself into the game. But CeeCee's peculiar behavior raises too many questions. Does she want Drew back? Or is revenge what CeeCee's after, as her actions threaten to condemn him to a life behind bars. When the bodies in the pool start stacking up like timber in a logging camp, Tracy knows nothing less than her wildest antics will do. But as the blows keep coming Drew's way, Tracy fears that even her craziness won't be enough to save him.
