"Hey Diddle Diddle, the Cat and the Fiddle. The cow jumped over the moon! The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran off with the spoon." Perhaps you think this verse is all nonsense, and that the things it mentions could never have happened; but they did happen, as you will understand when Frank Baum has explained them all to you clearly.
Little Bobby was the only son of a small farmer who lived out of town upon a country road. Bobby's mother looked after the house and Bobby's father took care of the farm, and Bobby himself, who was not very big, helped them both as much as he was able.
It was lonely upon the farm, especially when his father and mother were both busy at work, but the boy had one way to amuse himself that served to pass many an hour when he would not otherwise have known what to do. He was very fond of music, and his father one day brought him from the town a small fiddle, or violin, which he soon learned to play upon. I don't suppose he was a very fine musician, but the tunes he played pleased himself, as well as his father and mother, and Bobby's fiddle soon became his constant companion. To find out how the cow and the cat and the moon became involved, you will need to listen to this delightful talk and be much the wiser.

“The Story of Santa Claus” is a delightful story about a young man who lives in his little wooden house and loves to make children happy by making them toys. Claus likes to carry his sack full of dolls, drums, horns, and wooden animals, and walk to the village passing out toys to children along the way. When winter comes, Claus is not able to walk to the village anymore. One day Claus meets magic deer that encourage him to make a sleigh so they can pull him across the snow into the nearby town. When Claus arrives in the village everyone is sleeping. So the deer carry Claus, and the sleigh, to the rooftop so Claus can climb down the chimney to deliver presents. And so it continues that on every Christmas Eve, with a sack full of toys, and reindeer to pull his sleigh, Santa Claus delivers presents to every little girl and boy.

Beware a tooth fairy queen scorned in this, the third chapter book of Academy Award winner William Joyce’s The Guardians series. There’s a lot more to this tooth-swiping sprite than meets the eye! When last we heard, the Guardians were resting easy with the knowledge that the children of Santoff Clausen were finally safe from Pitch’s dastardly plans. But is it all a ruse, a scheme, a lull the evil Nightmare King has deviously concocted?Whatever Pitch’s plans, what he doesn’t know is that there’s a new Guardian in town, and she’s not the type to forget old grudges. Actually, she’s not the type to forget anything—because this Guardian is none other than Toothiana, the Tooth Fairy herself. She’s fierce and fast and crossing her will lead to a multitude of troubles. And, it turns out that, well, all those teeth she has been collecting? They contain memories. The forgotten memories of childhood…including the memories of how to fly. Young Katherine is hopeful that these memories might help her to remember her parents. The Guardians hope they’ll offer even further protection from Pitch. You can see how this information would be invaluable to our heroes. But it could also be invaluable to Pitch…
