Sinopse

Bram Stoker: Complete Novels presents the full breadth of Stoker's literary output, including the seminal work "Dracula," a gothic horror masterpiece that has reshaped the genre. This collected volume offers readers a chance to explore Stoker's intricate narrative style, which blends rich, atmospheric prose with epistolary techniques, allowing for a multifaceted exploration of his characters'Äô psyches and social contexts. Thematically, Stoker navigates the tension between modernity and ancient folklore, reflecting the anxieties of Victorian society regarding sexuality, imperialism, and the unknown. Bram Stoker, an Irish writer and theater manager, was deeply influenced by his fascination with stagecraft and the supernatural. His background gave him unique insights into the performance of fear and seduction, elements that permeate his stories. Stoker's experiences with literary figures of his time, particularly his friendship with Oscar Wilde, also shaped his understanding of the complexities of desire and morality, both central themes in his novels. For readers captivated by gothic literature or those seeking a deeper understanding of the genre's evolution, Bram Stoker: Complete Novels is indispensable. This anthology not only serves as an introduction to Stoker'Äôs world but also invites a reevaluation of his contributions, showcasing his lasting influence on horror fiction and popular culture.

'Set to become one of the decade's landmarks of English weird.'

    – Nina Allan, author of Conquest
WITH A NEW INTRODUCTION BY ANGELA SLATTER

Malcolm Devlin's debut short-fiction collection, first published in 2017, announced the arrival of a major new talent in the worlds of weird fiction and literary horror.
In You Will Grow Into Them, change is the only constant. These ten stories tackle the unease of transformation, growth, and change in a world where the mundane is only a veneer hiding the darkness below. Childhood anxieties manifest as degraded doppelgängers; fungal blooms are harvested from the backs of dancers; and lycanthropes become the new social pariahs.

In You Will Grow Into Them, the demons we carry inside us are very real indeed.

Five fantastical tales from the mind of H. P. Lovecraft that center around a theme of illicit substances: some used to transcend the veil of reality, some used to keep one's sanity in check. All of the stories are quite psychedelic and unreal, quite mystical, and quite frightening. So, turn off the lights, get lit, and come with us on this long strange trip. Stories include "Azathoth", "Dagon", "Ex Oblivione", "Celephais", and "Hypnos".
Howard Phillips Lovecraft was an American writer of weird, science, fantasy, and horror fiction. He is best known for his creation of the Cthulhu Mythos. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Lovecraft spent most of his life in New England. Lovecraft's literary corpus is based around the idea of cosmicism, which was simultaneously his personal philosophy and the main theme of his fiction. Cosmicism posits that humanity is an insignificant part of the cosmos, and could be swept away at any moment. He incorporated fantasy and science fiction elements into his stories, representing the perceived fragility of anthropocentrism. This was tied to his ambivalent views on knowledge. His works were largely set in a fictionalized version of New England. Civilizational decline also plays a major role in his works, as he believed that the West was in decline during his lifetime.
