Sinossi

For years, American filmmaker and showman Carl Denham has been recognized for his movies of untamed nature, shot in exotic locations around the globe. Now, in late 1932, he's about to embark on his most dangerous gamble - to film the movie that could make or ruin his reputation. Along with first mate Jack Driscoll, a camera crew, and actress Ann Darrow, guided only by an arcane map, Denham sets sail for the lost world of Skull Island.

What they encounter there exceeds even their wildest nightmares. The island's peninsula is shielded by a giant wall, built by a long-vanished civilization, which protects the inhabitants from something on the other side - something monstrous, all-powerful...and terribly alive. Danger becomes deadly when Denham, Driscoll, and the beautiful Ann Darrow come face-to-face with the beast-god of Skull Island, King Kong.

Since its release in 1933, Merian C. Cooper's film King Kong has shocked and delighted generations of movie fans, setting the standard against which all special-effects movies have been judged ever since. Merian C. Cooper's King Kong, fully authorized by Cooper's estate, is a full, expanded rewrite of the 1932 novel, bringing his original vision back to today's fans.

The Ring of Thoth is a tale of Fantasy, mystery, the supernatural and horror by the creator of Sherlock Holmes. Author Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born on May 22, 1859, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Doyles were a prosperous Irish-Catholic family, who had a prominent position in the world of Art. Charles Altamont Doyle, Arthur's father, a chronic alcoholic, was the only member of his family, who apart from fathering a brilliant son, never accomplished anything of note. Charles had married Mary Foley, a vivacious and very well-educated young woman of seventeen. Mary had a passion for books and was a master storyteller. Her son Arthur wrote of his mother's gift of "sinking her voice to a horror-stricken whisper" when she reached the culminating point of a story. There was little money in the family and even less harmony on account of his father's excesses and erratic behavior After Arthur reached his ninth birthday, the wealthy members of the Doyle family offered to pay for his studies. He was in tears all the way to England, where for seven years he had to go to a Jesuit boarding school. It was during these difficult years at boarding school that Arthur realized he also had a talent for storytelling. He was often found, surrounded by a bevy of totally enraptured younger students, listening to the amazing stories he would make up to amuse them. Doyle died on July 7th, 1930, from heart disease. Besides the Sherlock Holmes stories, his other publications include non-fiction, plays, verse, memoirs, short stories, and several historical novels and supernatural and speculative fiction. The Lost World is perhaps the best known of his other fictional works.

"If you also will give up your hopes of heaven, I can remain a woman..."
When a down-on-his-luck journalist inherits a mysterious Chelsea house and a modest fortune from his Aunt Dorcas, he thinks he’s escaped the drudgery of Fleet Street forever. But hidden in the attic lies a forgotten painting — one that will change his life, and his afterlife, forever.
Behind the ornate curves of an ebony frame, he uncovers a portrait of a woman with mesmerizing eyes and haunting beauty — eyes that seem to follow him, to plead, to command. When he calls out to her, she answers.
So begins a ghostly love affair that transcends time and death, shadowed by forbidden knowledge, eternal longing, and a terrible price. As fire consumes the past and future alike, he must decide whether a love from beyond the grave is worth the loss of his soul.
The Ebony Frame is a seductive, tragic gothic tale from E. Nesbit, best known for her children’s books but here writing in a darker, more adult register. In this lush new narration by Miguel Khoury, her eerie romance comes alive with devastating intensity.
Perfect for fans of supernatural fiction, Victorian ghost stories, and tragic love with an occult twist.
