Sinopse

In this edition I reveal more proofs of people making a lot of money with the same techniques we've been using since 2019. It's a kind of online book arbitrage can never be saturated. It's something that still works and is creating fortune for many folks, especially absolute beginners. This is because it really doesn't have to do with having technical or previous knowledge.

As long as you have internet and a computer, you can do this alone if you follow this guide, or you can join us and start selling inside our community. So, wherever you are in the world, I just want to let you know you can do this strategy.

Focusing on Chicago’s West Side, After Redlining illuminates how urban activists were able to change banks’ behavior to support investment in communities that they had once abandoned.

American banks, to their eternal discredit, long played a key role in disenfranchising nonwhite urbanites and, through redlining, blighting the very city neighborhoods that needed the most investment. Banks long showed little compunction in aiding and abetting blockbusting, discrimination, and outright theft from nonwhites. They denied funds to entire neighborhoods or actively exploited them, to the benefit of suburban whites—an economic white flight to sharpen the pain caused by the demographic one.

And yet, the dynamic between banks and urban communities was not static, and positive urban development, supported by banks, became possible. In After Redlining, Rebecca K. Marchiel illuminates how, exactly, urban activists were able to change some banks’ behavior to support investment in communities that they had once abandoned. The leading activists arose in an area hit hard by banks’ discriminatory actions and politics: Chicago’s West Side. A multiracial coalition of low- and moderate-income city residents, this Saul Alinsky–inspired group championed urban reinvestment. And amazingly, it worked: their efforts inspired national action, culminating in the federal Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and the Community Reinvestment Act.

While the battle for urban equity goes on, After Redlining provides a blueprint of hope.

You started a business. But why?
Entrepreneurs often lose sight of what matters. Are you helping people? Are they happy? Are you happy? Are you profitable? Isn't that enough?
Derek Sivers accidentally started a business by helping musicians sell their music. It became the largest online seller of independent music with over 150,000 musicians and $100M in sales. After ten years, he sold the company for $22 million and gave all the money to charity.
In “Anything You Want” he shares 40 powerful lessons, in two hour listen. Points include:When you make a company, you make your utopia — your perfect world.Business is not about money. It’s about making dreams come true for others and for yourself.Starting with no money is an advantage. You don’t need money to start helping people.Your business plan is moot. You don’t know what people really want until you launch.Don’t pursue business just for your own gain. Only answer the calls for help.
The book’s most memorable stories are from his horrible mistakes, like why saving ten minutes cost him $3.3 million dollars, and how he was attacked by Steve Jobs.
“Anything You Want” was first published by Seth Godin in 2011, then by Penguin/Portfolio in 2015. This third edition for 2022 was improved with eight new chapters.
Its surprisingly humanist approach to business, focusing on generosity and happiness more than profits, has helped thousands of entrepreneurs to re-focus on what matters and find their own path to success.
