Sinopsis

Marvin Spangler is a self-centered, ill-equipped teacher of high school history, tasked by his principal to form an auctioneering team that has a chance in hell of winning a Tennessee state championship.

It comes as a welcome diversion from his tepid life as an unfulfilled husband to his icy pediatrician wife Lydia, and barely-there father to a unique set of children.

He assembles a team comprising three very different souls: Larry Jr., the damaged prodigy, is led by fate, Eric, the obsessed jock, by unrequited love, and Helen, the usually disinterested beauty, by an inexplicable fascination.

Together they surrender to a journey that carries them to the cusp of the summit of their dreams... and the nightmares awaiting far down below.

Bruce Morgan is worried. His wife and fellow investment broker Melissa has just texted him--begging him to come up to her office. When he arrives, he finds her surrounded by four of her colleagues--three men and one woman--and they are livid over her recent insistence that they diversify their clients’ portfolios...with cannabis stocks! Now, their clients are angry, management is angry, and their careers are in jeopardy. Livid? Frankly, her colleagues are enraged.

    Now, Bruce Morgan is scared.

These people want justice. They want restitution. And, after a brief huddle, they announce that a bare-bottom spanking be administered to Melissa by all of them. Naturally, the three male colleagues want her clothes to come off first.

    Now, Bruce Morgan is confused.

With his wife now undergoing the most humiliating experience imaginable, he should feel sorry for her. And he does. It's just that, well, their sex-life has been more or less nonexistent ever since Melissa began obsessing over her work. So, the opportunity to witness this very arousing spectacle is overriding his compassion and making him very aroused, indeed.

And the "thoroughness" of Melissa’s colleagues in "evening the score" quickly brings the spectacle to an almost unimaginable level of humiliation. And titillation.

    Now, Bruce Morgan is thrilled.

Guilt-ridden to the hilt, this frustrated hubby is nonetheless becoming so aroused seeing what his wife is being put through that, well, he just can’t resist joining in on the fun!

This is Book #6 in J.C.'s latest series: "My Wife--Submissive at Last"--a collection of titillating tales featuring horny, hard-up, and harried husbands who find themselves in newfound positions of power and dominance over their demanding, controlling, and sexually conservative wives.

    Leibniz’s Monads - Because...

Ever wondered what reality is made of? If you're thinking atoms, molecules, or maybe regret and caffeine, think again. According to Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz—17th-century genius, calculus co-inventor, and metaphysical madlad—the universe is made of tiny, windowless soul-particles called monads. They don’t touch, don’t talk, and yet still manage to reflect the entire cosmos like cosmic disco balls of divine insight.
In Leibniz’s Monads: Because Particles with Feelings Totally Make Sense, Sophia Blackwell (author of Kant You Not) returns with another brutally honest, laugh-out-loud, actually-informative tour through one of philosophy’s weirdest, most ambitious systems. From the problem of evil to quantum physics, ecology to ethics, this book unpacks Leibniz’s windowless wonders and shows how his soul-marbles still haunt modern science, spirituality, and your existential crisis at 2am.
Perfect for students, armchair philosophers, or anyone who wants to understand metaphysics without crying in German.
    Inside, you’ll learn:
What monads are (and why they’re basically metaphysical Tamagotchis)
Why your soul is pre-synced with the universe like a divine group project
How this is somehow the best possible world (yes, even with all of… this)
What quantum physics, computer science, and modern consciousness studies owe to a guy who never left Leipzig
And why Leibniz remains philosophy’s most lovable, logic-obsessed optimist
If you like philosophy that doesn’t take itself too seriously—but still takes ideas seriously—this book is for you.
Warning: May cause sudden belief in soul-particles. Or at least very polite existential confusion.

From the award-winning composer/co-lyricist behind such iconic projects as Hairspray, Sister Act, Mary Poppins Returns, and Smash comes a wickedly funny, no-holds-barred memoir.

In Never Mind the Happy, musical dynamo Marc Shaiman looks back on five decades of Broadway triumphs, Hollywood hijinks, and unforgettable collaborations. Along the way, he charts the personal highs and heartbreaks that have shaped him—spending his teenage years in community theater, starting a decades-long collaboration with Bette Midler in the'70s, surviving the AIDS crisis of the '80s, his award-winning film music career in the Hollywood of the '90s, right up to the highs (and lows) of creating Broadway musicals from 2000 on.

Candid, hilarious, and deeply human, Shaiman's story is a tribute to the power of music, the pull of the spotlight, and the beat that never stops.

Part showbiz tell-all, part love letter to the melancholy that fuels creativity, told in perfect comic timing—along with a few wrong notes, and plenty of standing ovations.

    Inshallah United: A story of...

    Nooruddean Choudry

Longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year Awards 2023
Nooruddean Choudry was born in 1979 — the year Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister, Sid Vicious died of a heroin overdose, Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the last Shah of Iran, and Tim Martin opened his first Wetherspoons. Also that year, a local football club lost the Cup Final to Arsenal courtesy of a man named Sunderland. That club would become an all-consuming obsession for young Nooruddean, who would one day become a small brown man and, vitally, also a Red.
Inshallah United is the story of the first British-born son of a Pakistani family living in England’s second city. And geography is important, because if it wasn't for his mum and dad settling in Manchester rather than anywhere else in the world, so much of what makes up Nooruddean's identity could have been so different. As it was, he grew up as a Muslim, Manchester United supporting, Morrissey-loving, Maggie-hating, working-class Manc.
Inshallah United is about growing up as a strictly halal Stretford Ender; a devout Muslim and diehard Red. It’s about praying five times a day that United would sign Alan Shearer and knock the Scousers off their perch. And it’s a deeply personal account of life as a Muslim Asian Mancunian kid in the late 80s and 90s, bookmarked by the most successful period in Manchester United's history.
Inshallah United, the latest memoir by Nooruddean Choudry, is a top-rated autobiography that offers a humorous and heartfelt exploration of his life as a devout Muslim and diehard Red. This biography is a must-read for those interested in the topic of cultural identity and recreation.
For fans of Chris Blackhurst (The World's Biggest Cash Machine), Wayne Barton (The Last Busby Babe), Jonathan Wilson (Kick and Run), Andy Spinoza (Manchester unspun), and Rob Carless (Here, There & Everywhere).
