Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956) was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer and political leader who headed the committee drafting the Constitution of India from the Constituent Assembly debates, served as Law and Justice minister in the first cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru, and inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement after renouncing Hinduism. Annihilation of Caste is an undelivered speech written in 1936 by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He wrote Annihilation of Caste for the 1936 meeting of a group of liberal Hindu caste-reformers in Lahore. After reviewing the speech's controversiality, conference organizers revoked Ambedkar's invitation. He then self-published the work. The work is considered a classic and is being re-evaluated time and again.
Castes in India: Their Mechanism, Genesis and Development was a paper read by B. R. Ambedkar at an anthropological seminar of Alexander Goldenweiser in New York on 9 May 1916. In the paper, Ambedkar made a presentation of a social phenomenon that emerged from the strategy of the Brahmins who adopted a strictly endogamous matrimonial regime, leading the other groups to do the same in order to emulate this self-proclaimed elite. He said that "the superposition of endogamy on exogamy means the creation of caste".
Dr.Ramani had rendered the two speeches as part of the Audio Book Project Ramani Audio Books.

    Slumdog Millionaire meets Forrest Gump
In 2018, under a full moon in the remote Mantiqueira mountain range in Brazil, a sickly stray dog chose to follow a runner during the Brazil 135 ultramarathon. He stayed by his side for 140 miles.
Fast forward to 2021, when Lucky the stray, now living the life in Florida, set off with his ultrarunner soulmate, David Green, on the journey of their lives — a four-month run covering 3,400 miles from Jacksonville Beach, Florida, to Muir Beach, California. Their route took them through a nation ravaged by Covid-19 and still reeling from the most toxic presidential election in history. An RV became their nightly retreat-on-wheels, captained by Chris, an affable chef from Brooklyn, who would provide so much more than food.
This is David’s honest account, his love letter to Lucky, after three short years together, during which time they inspired each other to break barriers of what is thought possible for dogs and humans -- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

As Dede Montgomery moves through grief to accept the death of her father, the stories in My Music Man shed light on change, acceptance, and forgiveness amid close personal relationships and Oregon’s natural landscapes. The reader is catapulted into autumn on the Willamette’s riverbank in the 1960s with the author and her brothers, where they discover their father’s own childhood stories and the intimate relationship he shares with the land. Tales about seven generations of family weave between time periods, held together by the constancy of place and colored by memories of picking berries and filberts, traveling through the West Linn locks, and swimming in the river on a hot summer day. Montgomery describes small-town life in a school where everyone knows everybody, and how it felt to be an only girl in what often felt like a never-ending sea of boys. Chapters depict stories about place, seasons, gender, relationships and recovery. This book is to be savored. Yet it's much more than a memoir - it's a multi-generational story, lovingly told, of a family deeply tied to Oregon's history. Additional written information such as photographs, family tree and references may be found on the author's website at https://dedemontgomery.com (My Music Man: Audio Book Supplement).
