Sinopsis

Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian explorer, navigator and cartographer who first demonstrated that Brazil and the West Indies did not represent Asia's eastern outskirts as initially conjectured from Columbus' voyages, but instead constituted an entirely separate landmass hitherto unknown to Europeans. Colloquially named the New World, this second super continent came to be known as "Americas", deriving its name from Americus, the Latin transcription of Vespucci's first name. Learn more about the man who gave his name to the new continent, read his personal letters, diaries and what his contemporaries wrote about him. Love’s Journey can be best described as a cross between a spoken word album and an audio book that combines poetry with emotional story telling. It’s more than a collection of poems about love put together. Poems written over a two-decade period organically come together to form a narrative of their own to reveal emotions as the true protagonist of this audio book. The commentaries for each poem help the story to unfold before your ears. They reveal some of the story behind the poems without giving away too much. They also provide clues to help solve some of the mysteries behind the events that inspired such deep emotions. Some mysteries presented are solvable while others aren’t and retain the book’s overall intrigue.
Love’s Journey tells the emotional story of my experiences with love in its various facets over the years in the form of poetry. Romantic love and heartbreak are recurring themes for most of the poems, but there are other forms of love included as well. Why write about these experiences in the form of poetry? Our individual experiences and circumstances may be something that not everyone can relate to. But emotions are universal! We all have them. My poetry is a way that I can emotionally connect with others, especially those with different life experiences. Feel your own emotions in my poetry and connect my words with your own personal experiences with love.
Each poem is enjoyable on its own, but the greatest reward is to be had when viewing them as an episode of a series from my real-life experiences. Listening to Love’s Journey more than once is required to unravel the love mystery that develops from the questions you will naturally ask yourself as you listen to it. You may even learn something from my journey that will benefit you on your very own journey of love. Take notes as you listen and compare them with the provided commentary as you embark on Love’s Journey!

In 1976, twenty-one-year-old Sebastian Abineri was cast in Richard Attenborough's epic war film, A Bridge Too Far. He joined "Attenborough's Private Army" (APA), a group of fifty young British actors, who were brought together to train under the eagle eye of a former director of The SAS to represent the heroic band of Paratroopers who held Arnhem Bridge against insurmountable odds in 1944.
The APA worked for six months alongside major stars such as Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Michael Caine and Sir Laurence Oliver. It was one of the hottest summers on record; so hot that the APA drank the local bars dry! The Boys from the Bridge recounts their extraordinary story.

Sebastian Abineri, the author and narrator of The Boys from The Bridge was a member of Attenborough's Private Army (APA a company of young actors put through military training for the film) and this is his account of the making of A Bridge Too Far and the adventures of this group of young actors.

Imagine that Isaac Babel’s Cossacks wassail together with Runyonesque Liverpool Jews outside the plate-glass window of a Hampstead café where a Klezmer band is playing to a packed and tea-drinking congregation of jazzmen, Hasidic scholars, surrealists, old soldiers, and retired
strippers; and you have the tone and temperature of this unique and unclassifiable memoir – no, not memoir, more a stream-of-consciousness novella – no, not a novella but a piece of autobiographical fiction – no, not autobiography but a picaresque drama conquered from the
unreliable and fertile brain of the eponymous Fastovski. And who is Fastovski? Is he real or invented? Is he perhaps the alter-ego of real-life jazz pianist, Klezmer swinger, big band leader and flaneur, Wallace Fields, who stares at us from the book’s frontispiece in shades, Diaghilev coat and moustache, over a cup of strong black coffee?
Fastovski’s not telling and anyway, who cares. This is a book to be devoured, disseminated, denounced, and delighted in. It belongs to all who think art and life are one and that the Arch-Savant of Canterbury, Issy Bonn, Rashid the Manic Berber Chef of NW3, and Mrs Karl Popper, have an equal claim on history. I haven’t had such a good time since I shared Sir Ralph Richardson’s motorbike with a parrot and a striking grandmother clock.Piers PlowrightAugust 2008
