Beschreibung

We delve into Romans(In English, 2023).Prologue.The image of God inherent in all things is manifested through the workings of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul also experiences the divine nature when the Holy Spirit comes upon him in Damascus. The Holy Spirit is the light of the essence, seen as the breath of the spiritual wind. By awakening the true moral nature, the spirit comes to life. Around A.D. 57, when the third missionary journey was coming to an end, Paul stayed in Corinth for three months and during that time, he wrote the remarkable Epistle to the Romans. Justification by the Holy Spirit, sanctification that embodies the law through love, and spiritualization that brings the law to fruition as fruit are unfolded in four paragraphs spanning chapters 1-4, 5-8, 9-11, and 12-16. The English original reference used is the King James Version (KJV). It is a translation of the Bible into English that was commissioned by King James I of England in 1607 and is known as the Authorized Version in the British realm.

The definitive biography of musical legend Bessie Smith: “A landmark in the writing of jazz history . . . First-rate” (The Washington Post).   Known as the “Empress of the Blues,” Bessie Smith was a successful vaudeville entertainer who became the highest paid African American performer of the Roaring Twenties. This revised and expanded biography debunks many of the myths that have circulated since her untimely death in 1937.   Writing with insight and candor about the singer’s personal life and career, the author supplements his research with dozens of interviews with her relatives, friends, and associates—in particular Ruby Walker Smith, a niece by marriage who toured with Bessie for over a decade. Also included in this updated edition are more details of Bessie’s early years, new interview material, and a chapter devoted to events and responses that followed the book’s original publication.   “The product of painstaking research . . . Devastating, provocative, and enlightening.” —Los Angeles Times

Lightweight, compact, distinctively styled, and now, electric: The Brompton isn't the only folding bicycle—or even the first. But everyone who has been on one will enthusiastically testify to its marvelous design (virtually unchanged over decades) and the particular joy of riding it.

Will Butler-Adams, CEO of Brompton Bicycles, has been at the company for twenty years. Initially, he worked as an engineer for Andrew Ritchie, the bike's brilliant inventor and the business's founder, before taking the helm in 2008. Butler-Adams's heartfelt mission is to grow and promote sustainable urban transportation and to improve city-dwellers' lives everywhere.

Under his leadership, Brompton has grown from making a few hundred bikes a year to over 90,000, with revenue of $130 million. But progress hasn't always been easy: There have been boardroom struggles, supply-chain problems, and conflicts with founder Andrew Ritchie. In The Brompton, Butler-Adams brings to life what it means to grow a company to global scale. He also tells the stories of the people who make the Brompton and the people who ride it. And he explains how customers all around the world fell in love with a brand that never set out to be a brand.

Icon painting has reached its zenith in Ukraine between the 11th and 18th centuries. This art is appealing because of its great openness to other influences — the obedience to the rules of Orthodox Christianity in its early stages, the borrowing from Roman heritage or later to the Western breakthroughs — combined with a never compromised assertion of a distinctly Slavic soul and identity. This book presents a handpicked and representative selection of works from the 11th century to the late Baroque period.
