Sinopse

Prologue.
In times of economic transition, changes always occur in three areas.
First, there is a lack of entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurial spirit, which is crucial to navigate through complex and chaotic times, is in absolute short supply.
Second, the dominant institution shifts from corporations to individuals. What once could only be done by large companies can now be accomplished by individuals.
Third, the dominant actor shifts from the CEO to the individual entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs create their own systems and work according to the systems they have built.
If one overcomes the intense challenges of the night with entrepreneurship, one can grasp an unprecedented level of wealth and freedom, as well as the meaning of work and life in human history.
What is dangerous is actually safer. The eminent Islamic historian Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) mentioned the concept of \'desert people\' in his \'Muqaddimah\'. Desert people live apart from the community, dwelling alone. Without city walls, they are always cautiously vigilant in all directions. They protect themselves with only bold courage.
City dwellers, accustomed to success and luxury, indulge in worldly desires. They lack courage due to laziness and complacency. They have an unshakeable belief in the security of the walls surrounding them.
People who allow someone else to design their lives enjoy only minimal freedom. They are assigned clearly defined tasks and roles at work.
On the other hand, those who define and design their own lives tackle complex problems. They demonstrate a high level of competence in the quality of life, freedom, and wealth.
Based on a philosophical understanding of wealth, they amplify the bidirectional feedback mechanism of error and recursion through a roadmap of wealth.

    Social Class and Mobility -...

Social class and mobility are central concepts in understanding how societies function and evolve. The classification of individuals into different social classes based on income, occupation, education, and wealth shapes life experiences, opportunities, and access to resources. At the same time, social mobility—the ability of individuals or groups to move within a social hierarchy—determines whether societies remain rigidly stratified or allow for upward and downward movement. These dynamics influence economic stability, political structures, and cultural identities, making the study of social class and mobility essential for comprehending broader social patterns.
Social class is typically divided into broad categories such as the upper class, middle class, working class, and lower class. Each class has distinct characteristics that define access to wealth, education, job opportunities, and social networks. For example, the upper class often benefits from inherited wealth and exclusive professional opportunities, while the working and lower classes may experience financial instability and limited career advancement. These disparities create divisions that influence daily life, from the quality of healthcare received to the neighborhoods people can afford to live in.
Social mobility refers to changes in an individual’s or family’s social position over time. Mobility can be upward, where individuals improve their socioeconomic status, or downward, where they experience a decline. It can also be intergenerational, occurring across multiple generations, or intragenerational, happening within an individual’s lifetime. Various factors influence mobility, including education, economic conditions, public policies, and structural barriers such as discrimination or unequal access to opportunities.

It’s become increasingly clear that healthcare workplaces are filled with non-inclusive behavior. People who are underrepresented because of their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity, disabilities, and other factors regularly face biases and challenges that hold them back from success. These include everything from harassment, dismissive behavior, and lack of credit for their contributions, to pay inequity, extra hurdles to advancement, and more. And while many organizations are looking to address these issues with top-down initiatives, there's also an important role for individuals to play in creating a more inclusive culture via everyday acts of allyship.
In this new book, inclusive workplace expert Karen Catlin brings her popular Better Allies® approach to healthcare workplaces.
Belonging in Healthcare provides a practical, research-based guide for how to be a better ally for coworkers who are from underrepresented groups. Filled with firsthand accounts from nurses, physicians, staff, administrators, and professors, combined with published studies, the book will help you spot situations where you can create a more inclusive workplace and everyday actions to reshape culture so everyone can thrive.
This is the book that allies in healthcare have been searching for: an industry-specific guide to the mindsets, strategies, and changes needed to make their workplaces more equitable from the inside out.

Are you tired of hearing people constantly complain and moan about a world problem, but offer you no solutions as to what you can do to help resolve this issue?
This might be from close friends or family constantly taking a negative view on this particular issue, or even from hearing about the problem on the news, but not hearing any potential solutions.
Can you tell what problem I am talking about yet? Of course, I am talking about manufactured scarcity.
Anyone who vaguely follows this topic will know that it is consistently increasing in the US, but many don’t know that it is also increasing across most other countries.
So, what can you and I do to help improve the situation?
The Power to Stop Any Illusion of Problems will help offer an insight into how these situations occur, in simple and understandable terms, so that you don’t get confused or demotivated by too much technical jargon.
It will then also show you ways that positive change can be made, rather than just telling you about all the negative impacts of scarcity and making you feel as though all hope is lost.
You will be amazed at the content included in this book, and the detail that is provided for you to digest. But what really sets this book apart from its competitors is that the information is so well presented and easy to understand.
