Summary

Hey there! If you’re looking to get a solid grip on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), this book, Financial Reporting IFRS, is your new best friend. It kicks off with the basics in Chapter 1, unpacking the Conceptual Framework—think of it as the foundation for all IFRS rules. You’ll get the lowdown on assets, liabilities, and what makes financial info useful. Then, it jumps into IAS 1 in Chapter 2, showing you how to present financial statements so they’re clear and comparable. Chapter 3 tackles inventory accounting—costing, valuation, all that good stuff. The book keeps rolling with cash flows in Chapter 4, and property, plant, and equipment in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 dives into intangible assets, while Chapter 7 explains impairment. Chapter 8 is your guide to financial instruments under IFRS 9. But it doesn’t stop there! You’ll explore revenue recognition in Chapter 9 with IFRS 15, leases in Chapter 10 with IFRS 16, and business combinations in Chapter 11. Chapter 12 covers niche industries like agriculture and mining. Chapter 13 breaks down income taxes, and Chapter 14 looks at hot topics like sustainability and digital assets. Finally, Chapter 15 wraps up with first-time IFRS adoption. It’s a full journey from beginner to pro!

So, why pick this book over others? It’s not your typical snooze-fest textbook. The author keeps things simple and conversational, breaking down tricky IFRS topics into bite-sized pieces anyone can digest—perfect if you’re just starting out or brushing up. You’ll find real-world examples and case studies that make the standards click, not just sit there on the page. Plus, it’s up-to-date with the latest, like IFRS 18 and sustainability disclosures, which many older books skip. Being independently written, it’s free from any board bias, giving you a fresh, fair take on IFRS. Whether you’re a student, a working accountant, or just curious, this book’s got the edge with its practical vibe and clear explanations—stuff you won’t always get elsewhere.

Raising children is never an easy task; as many parents will tell you, it is a lifetime commitment and one that can sometimes be thankless. Now, raising a neuro-divergent child makes parenting several times more challenging.
Neuro-divergence is the difference in brain function from what we consider standard or typical. A neuro-divergent child shows different mental characteristics from what would be considered typical, called neuro-typical. ODD and ADHD are two examples of neuro-divergent disorders that are common among the population.
Raising a child with an ODD and ADHD combination is infinitely more challenging than usual and requires greater tact and patience. Children with ODD and ADHD often show developmental problems, defiance of authority, disregard for what is considered normal, and, if not checked, can develop problems in their social life.
So, if you are wondering:What exactly are ODD and ADHDHow do I tell the difference between the two? What behavioral problems do the two disorders display?
And other similar questions, then read on.
This book will cover:What ODD and ADHD are?How ODD with ADHD presents itself.Behavioral problems that an oppositional child displaysLearning how to raise a child with ODD and ADHD combined
    And so much more.

    TWENTY-ONE BOXES Robin's Story...

In 1989, the Little Rascals Day Care in Edenton, North Carolina, was suddenly thrust into the national spotlight. One day, the owner's husband disciplined a boy at naptime, and soon an angry mother suggested that it was more than just a slap. Rumors quickly morphed into charges of unimaginable crimes against dozens of little children. Panic consumed the town, as the police, therapists, and parents relentlessly pressured the children who attended the day care to name their teachers responsible for multiple allegations of abuse. The Edenton Seven were caught up in the accusations, including nineteen-year-old teacher Robin Boles Byrum. She spent nearly a year in jail under an enormous bond meant to pressure her to "tell the truth" while she had a new baby at home.
Eerily reminiscent of the hysteria that gripped Salem, Massachusetts, during the witch trials of the seventeenth century, the Little Rascals case ultimately became the longest and most expensive criminal trial in North Carolina history. Three decades later, Betsy Hester met Robin Byrum Couto and together, they joined forces to tell the truth. Betsy shares insights from legal and medical experts and reveals the facts from twenty-one boxes and bound testimonies from the courtroom long since buried away. Intertwined with the case history is Robin's never-before-told story of her harrowing journey through the court system. Finally, this book serves as a modern-day warning about the danger of mass hysteria and the consequences of a judicial system that blindly refused to hear and seek the truth.

    Rethinking Reserves in the Swiss...

This work examines reserves in the recently revised Swiss Code of Obligations, which will enter into force 1 January 2023. The analysis focuses on their creation and dissolution, and distinguishes between reserves formed by the board and reserves formed by the general assembly. By focusing on an instrument in the banking sector, the reserves for general banking risks, this work investigates the general assembly’s possibility to delegate the power to form further reserves to the board of directors based on the articles of the association. This question is analyzed in the context of companies limited by shares, limited liability companies, and cooperatives. Finally, the effects of such a delegation and the consequences in a practical view of going to court are analyzed through the Federal Supreme Court’s judgment in a similar topic of delegation.
