Sinopse

"Antichrist" is an in-depth study of the biblical texts on Antichrist, which aims to answer the question: Who or what is the Antichrist? To answer this question, Pink traces the references to Antichrist, including the Book of Psalms, the Gospels, the Epistles, and Revelation, and constructs the profile of Antichrist from the scriptures. He doesn't approach Antichrist only as a person but also as an ideology that leads to a certain chain of deeds and events. Yet, in the first chapters of the book, he rejects the idea that the Roman papacy is the embodiment of Antichrist, despite their persecution of Christians in the Middle Ages. In Chapters Three to Seven, he gives details on the possible Antichrist identity as he sees it, based on the scripture. Chapter Eight through Seventeen demonstrate how the theme of Antichrist is displayed through the Bible.

Arthur Walkington Pink (1886–1952) is one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century.
He was an English Bible teacher who sparked a renewed interest in the exposition of Calvinism or Reformed Theology.

A profound call to Christian discipleship. An intensive course in Christian faith. A creative freedom to serve God that is deeply grounded in Scripture. These are ways to describe Sacred Listening, James L. Wakefield's adaptation of the classic Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola.

Central to the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), the Spiritual Exercises is a manual used to direct a month-long spiritual retreat. Now adapting these time-honored Exercises specifically for Protestant Christians, James L. Wakefield encourages listeners to integrate their secular goals with their religious beliefs and helps them reflect on the life of Jesus as a model for their own discipleship.

Combining scholarship with classic forms of spirituality, Sacred Listening will interest church leaders and lay Christians who want to deepen their faith.

An inventive, unique, and extraordinarily moving literary debut that pieces together the fascinating story of one woman’s family across twentieth-century Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Germany.
Katja Petrowskaja wanted to create a kind of family tree, charting relatives who had scattered across multiple countries and continents. Her idea blossomed into this striking and highly original work of narrative nonfiction, an account of her search for meaning within the stories of her ancestors.
In a series of short meditations, Petrowskaja delves into family legends, introducing a remarkable cast of characters: Judas Stern, her great-uncle, who shot a German diplomatic attaché in 1932 and was sentenced to death; her grandfather Semyon, who went underground with a new name during the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, forever splitting their branch of the family from the rest; her grandmother Rosa, who ran an orphanage in the Urals for deaf-mute Jewish children; her Ukrainian grandfather Vasily, who disappeared during World War II and reappeared without explanation forty-one years later—and settled back into the family as if he’d never been gone; and her great-grandmother, whose name may have been Esther, who alone remained in Kiev and was killed by the Nazis.
How do you talk about what you can’t know, how do you bring the past to life? To answer this complex question, Petrowskaja visits the scenes of these events, reflecting on a fragmented and traumatized century and bringing to light family figures who threaten to drift into obscurity. A true search for the past reminiscent of Jonathan Safran Foer’s Everything Is Illuminated, Daniel Mendelsohn’s The Lost, and Michael Chabon’s Moonglow, Maybe Esther is a poignant, haunting investigation of the effects of history on one family.

Sometimes the world knocks us flat on our butt.

We feel stretched further than we ever thought physically, emotionally, or spiritually possible. And though we are torn up inside, we feel like we need to keep our chin up and put a good face on things. So we pretend that everything is fine, even though it's not.

Even in the hardest times, strength from God rises from deep in our soul to keep us going. In this honest, inspirational, and humorous book, Katie Schnack goes deep into the hard stuff of life with no sugar coating or toxic positivity to find sustenance she could not imagine. Faced with a child's medical challenges in the midst of a global pandemic, having strength to get up in the morning and actually enjoy the day was so unlikely that she knew it had to come from God. Schnack's plucky authenticity shows us how when life is complicated, self-compassion and humor can bring healing and life.

Everything Is (Not) Fine looks at the hard realities of life, but also gently reminds us of the good. Even in dark times, we can get glimpses of light.

    Pan and Me - Metaphysical...

In this latest book about my most recent metaphysical journeys, I had two ideas that I wanted to follow through on: I wanted to see and experience the great forests of Gondwanaland; and, I wanted to see and experience what existed on a higher frequency within the one hectare of garden that I currently call home. All the rest was spontaneous, as a greater metaphysical world reality revealed to me wonders of which I had never even dreamed. Truly, I had no intention of being washed up on the shores of Mars, and the Inner Earth was a destination I had long ago surrendered. And as for being involved in end-of-term exams... no way! However, as always, timing is everything. It is so with Nature and it is so with humanity... if we allow.
As I mature with the years and wisdom grows, my journeys take me ever deeper into the great Truths that underline all life, all Nature... and beyond.
