Sinopse

In the Pithos Dominion, a world devastated by the release of monstrous evils, survival means fighting or running—sometimes both.

When Paxton Roald's mother and grandmother are turned into Revenant—intelligent, powerful zombies controlled by a mysterious entity known as the Controller—he embarks on a desperate journey to find his estranged father, the scientist who helped create the Revenant virus. Paxton's plan is simple: trade his father to save his remaining family. But nothing in the Dominion is ever simple.

Joining Paxton is Terrance Bonifacy, whose dark family secret ties him to the Controller in ways he's only beginning to understand. As they navigate a world of spider-cattle farms, territorial pirate ships, and walls protecting the last human strongholds, they're joined by Sara, who can communicate with animals, and Jeff, a "zombie-pirate-gigolo" with unexpected loyalties.

Their journey takes them through hostile territories where the Dixie Mafia crucifies missionaries, vampires run New Orleans, and government agencies hide terrible secrets behind military walls. But the most dangerous threats come from within as Terrance discovers his ability to command the Revenant just like his grandfather, and Paxton wrestles with revenge, responsibility, and redemption.

In a world where humanity's greatest mistake has created its greatest predator, the line between monster and hero blurs with every choice. The truth may set them free—or destroy what remains of civilization.

If you enjoyed "The Passage," "Zone One," and "The Girl With All The Gifts," you'll love "Despair of the Seer."
