Sinopsis

The Vicar of Bullhampton is an 1870 novel by Anthony Trollope. It is made up of three intertwining subplots: the courtship of a young woman by two suitors; a feud between the titular Broad church vicar and a Low church nobleman, abetted by a Methodist minister; and the vicar's attempt to rehabilitate a young woman who has gone astray. Excerpt: "I am disposed to believe that no novel reader in England has seen the little town of Bullhampton, in Wiltshire, except such novel readers as live there, and those others, very few, who visit it perhaps four times a year for trade, and who are known as commercial gentlemen. Bullhampton is seventeen miles from Salisbury, eleven from Marlborough, nine from Westbury, seven from Haylesbury, and five from the nearest railroad station, which is called Bullhampton Road, and lies on the line from Salisbury to Yeovil."

And the cherry on the cake: had kinky sex with a gorgeous alien warrior.

When a quiet return to Earth turns into an almost deadly mission, my universe is tipped upside down all over again. A young girl with a hero crush, jail time, connecting to my inner cyborg . . . A mere prelude to the most insane challenge I've ever faced. My take on it?

Rule #1: Don't fall for your client. Ryder: This shouldn't be that hard. As the resident playboy at Heartbreakers Anonymous, I’ll be your perfect wedding date, but I keep it strictly professional. And I'm straight, so it's not like I’m interested in Quinn, my first gay client.

Rule #2. Don't crash your client's other dates. No matter how nerdy and adorable Quinn is. No matter how much he could use the confidence boost. No matter how badly I want to see him again. But it's so damn hard to keep myself away.

Rule #3: Don't sleep over at Quinn's house. Whoops.

Rule #4: Don't crawl into his bed at night. Too late.

Rule #5: Don't kiss him, and discover you're not as straight as you think. Umm, about that . . .

    Rule #6: Definitely don't sleep with him. So . . .

Rule #7: Whatever you do, don't fall in love. These are the rules I’m supposed to live by. But Quinn turns everything upside down. I swore off dating years ago, but he makes me yearn for something more. He doesn’t believe I want him. How can I convince him my feelings are real? Finding our happily ever after won’t be easy. Luckily, I’ve got a rule of my own: If you do fall in love with your client, don't ever let him go.

"Recommended."- Binge On Books"Outstanding storytelling." - Joyfully Jay ReviewsAngus Donohue doesn't want to be a warlock. He believes draining demons for magic is evil, but it's a dangerous opinion to have - his father is a powerful and well-connected warlock, and Angus is expected to follow the family tradition. His only way out is to fail the demon summoning class. Failure means expulsion from the Warlock College. Despite Angus's best efforts to fumble the summoning, it works. Although not the way anyone expects. Angus's demon, Saka, is a powerful mage with his own need for a warlock. Saka wants to use Angus in a ritual to rebalance the magic that is being stripped from Demonside by warlocks. If Angus survives his demon's desires and the perils of Demonside, he'll have to face the Warlock College and their demands. Angus must choose: obey the College and forget about Demonside or trust Saka and try to fix the damage before it's too late. Whatever he does, he is in the middle of a war he isn't qualified to fight. For readers who like urban fantasy with alternate worlds and forbidden magic.

A groundbreaking account of New York's Fire Island, chronicling its influence on art, literature, culture and queer liberation over the past centuryFire Island, a thin strip of beach off the Long Island coast, has long been a vital space in the queer history of America. Both utopian and exclusionary, healing and destructive, the island is a locus of contradictions, all of which coalesce against a stunning ocean backdrop. Now, poet and scholar Jack Parlett tells the story of this iconic destination—its history, its meaning and its cultural significance—told through the lens of the artists and creators who sought refuge on its shores. Together, figures as divergent as Walt Whitman, Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, Carson McCullers, Frank O'Hara, Patricia Highsmith and Jeremy O. Harris tell the story of a queer space in constant evolution.Transporting, impeccably researched and gorgeously written, Fire Island is the definitive book on an iconic American destination and an essential contribution to queer history.Supplemental enhancement PDF accompanies the audiobook.
