Sinopsis

M.K. Wren is widely known for her swiftly paced crime thrillers. In Neely Jones: The Medusa Pool, she introduces a police officer who is struggling to survive a new job, racial intolerance, and great personal sorrow. 
  
Neely Jones is the only African-American member of the Taft County, Oregon, police force. Although many in the community are bigots, and some co-workers resent her, she has just been elected sheriff. On the day after the election, however, Neely suddenly faces more than just prejudice. Her boyfriend, a noted oceanographer, is found drowned in a tank of rare jellyfish. Now grief-stricken and shaken, Neely must find his murderer while navigating the pitfalls of her new command. 
  
As fear and opposition tighten their grip on Neely, she knows her life is in grave danger, but courage is all she can rely on.
