Sinopsis

Fanny Price arrives as a child at Mansfield Park, the great house of her Bertram relatives, where she grows up in silence, always at the margins of a world that never fully considers her an equal. Discreet, observant, and endowed with a quiet but steadfast character, Fanny learns to navigate the whims of her cousins, the authority of Sir Thomas, and the indifference of Aunt Norris. Only Edmund offers her true companionship, someone capable of recognizing her sensitivity and intelligence.

Considered Jane Austen's most complex and mature novel, Mansfield Park explores with subtlety the bonds of family, personal integrity, and the dangers of mistaking superficial brilliance for true virtue.

    Herbert George "H. G." Wells (1866 - 1946) was an English writer.
He was prolific in many genres, including the novel, history, politics, social commentary, and textbooks and rules for war games. Wells is now best remembered for his science fiction novels and is called a "father of science fiction"
BOOK 4: SOME PERSONAL THINGS: It has been most convenient to discuss all that might be generalized about conduct first, to put in the common background, the vistas and atmosphere of the scene. But a man's relations are of two orders, and these questions of rule and principle are over and about and round more vivid and immediate interests. A man is not simply a relationship between his individual self and the race, society, the world and God's Purpose.

"Viy" by Nikolai Gogol is a haunting tale that delves into the supernatural. The story follows Khoma, a skeptical seminary student, who is tasked with saying prayers over the deceased witch princess. As Khoma faces a nightmarish encounter with the reanimated corpse, the narrative unfolds into a chilling exploration of fear, folklore, and the clash between the mortal and supernatural realms. Gogol weaves a tale of horror and the macabre, leaving readers on the edge of their seats as the boundary between the living and the dead blurs in the mysterious night.

Nowadays The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the most famous and popular novel by an American writer Mark Twain (his real name is Samuel Langhorne Clemens).
Huckleberry Finn is a teenager who runs away from his alcoholic father that was constantly beating him. On the way, an escaped black slave Jim, whose master was going to sell him to more cruel owners, joins him. Huck and Jim sail down the Mississippi River to Cairo in Illinois where slavery is abolished.
The book is famous for its picturesque descriptions of people and towns along the Mississippi River. The actions happen before the Civil War in the south society that disappeared approximately 20 years before the publication of the novel. It is full of a satire on ingrained prejudices, racism in particular.
