1841. Mary Ann Evans is of marriageable age. Her father has recently moved with her to Bird Grove House, with the sole purpose of finding her a suitable husband. But Mary Ann's remarkable intellect and growing self-confidence are forming progressive new ideas in her mind; ideas that challenge her father's most strongly held beliefs.
If she is to become the writer she has always dreamt of being, Mary Ann will have to break every societal convention expected of her.
A funny and poignant exploration of family ties and self-determination, Alexi Kaye Campbell's play Bird Grove tells the untold story of the woman who was to become one of England's greatest writers: George Eliot. It premiered at Hampstead Theatre, London, in 2026, directed by Anna Ledwich.

In this volume we have collected verse from poets born in New England. This corner of America where the first Europeans began to push the indigenous culture back from its home is a grid of small States that have been home to some of the greatest poets ever born anywhere, including Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Helen Hunt Jackson, Oliver Wendell Holmes, and Kathy Lee Bates.

Footprints

Footprints are a collection of poems that were either written or revised recently or recalled from work begun and lost fifty years before. Some recall pleasant memories of my beloved Veronica and some of her later struggles with ill health. She was born and grew up in Dublin and Ireland remained a special place for both of us. The DART from Howth to Greystones "tunnels under Queen V's crown and pops out for the view above Killiney Bay" where "the magic face of Ireland is found." We met and married in Syracuse. Events and places from that time are featured in some of the poems. Newtown Plus Five was written shortly after news coverage of the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook school massacre. An Elegy for One and Many commemorates the life of a friend of the victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue rampage who died during the same period of time. Many of the poems are written in traditional verse forms and rhyme schemes.
A number of poems reflect concerns about America: the face it presents to the world and the state of its democracy. Ode from a Colonial Bowl recounts a family history of its founding.
Flint where "once-upon-a-time America coursed through (its) leaden arteries to nurse its middle class." In Vietnam "we've grown old, some fifty years removed from when our universe was rolled into a white-hot ball," to find the common threads we shared in youth to pursue our common legacy. American Graffiti asks, "Can Cicero and Caesar coexist within republican constraint?"
Let Freedom Ring calls upon us to answer "the distant bells of freedom pealing " in Ukraine. The challenge is to understand how both poems can be compatible in our logic.

This poem is about the new invention in war, of small arms arsenals - The Drone. Coming on the heels of the 
former mass produced and used small arm the - Kalashnikov rifle. 
The similarities of the AK and Drones, for widespread use are their cheapness to build relative to their 
use - cost benefit. Their individual strike and their reliability, and their 
effectiveness. 
In all its guises, it represents a new era in remote 'close contact'. 
The Drone itself being sent from a remote location and controlled at a remote location, 
but the target being an individual, small group or military vehicle like the Tank. 
Drones are fast becoming the choice of weapon in the modern age for battlefield contact.

A Mirror is an elusive, explosive play by Sam Holcroft, interrogating censorship, authorship and free speech. It premiered at the Almeida Theatre, London, in 2023, directed by Jeremy Herrin, and with a cast including Jonny Lee Miller, Tanya Reynolds and Micheal Ward.
It transferred to the Trafalgar Theatre in the West End in 2024.

HOTHOUSEtackles climate breakdown with big ideas, a lot of laughs, and some truly grotesque cabaret numbers. Cruise ships, horny/murderous songbirds, fecund/fatalistic rabbits, loving/bruising parents and Minnie Riperton all make an appearance in this play with songs, which asks if things can ever get better.
