Synopsis

The new satire from the author of Radio Sunrise.

Who will be the next president of the Society of Journalists in Lagos? Who is qualified to lead the esteemed body of journalists and help uphold professional ethics in the state? Will honesty and integrity be able to beat charisma and misinformation?

When a sick man flies in from a neighbouring country, he becomes Nigeria's first ebola case-patient zero. As the cases rise and journalists across the country vie for the lead in reporting the news on the imminent pandemic, Ifiok and his colleagues must immediately tackle the spread of the virus by raising awareness, sharing information, and supporting the outreach efforts of health workers. Unfortunately, they also have to battle against hysteria, misinformation, corruption and denial. Ifiok's love life could be a much needed escape from the stresses of work, if not for his meddling mother and the outdated traditions of society.

Will Ifiok succeed in his quest to become the next president of the Society of Journalists, win the battle against misinformation and find love along the way?

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Lauren allowed Daniel free rein of her kitchen, she never expected him to take over her heart.
With her pantry stocked for the winter and a new project to keep her busy, pen and ink artist Lauren Roberts hunkers down in her Catskill Mountain cabin prepared for the year’s first blizzard.
Stranded in the snow, not too far from one of the few cabins he’d passed, Holiday Maker-Baker Champion, Daniel Michael Greene trudges to the only home he’d seen for the last twenty miles to find help.
Shut off from the outside world, the two must weather the storm and isolation. Lauren’s initial concern about housing a stranger turns to relief when he demonstrates exactly why he’d won his culinary title. Her guest’s skills in the kitchen far exceed anything she could imagine.
Frustrated with missing his judging gig at this year’s Holiday Maker-Baker Competition, Dan comes up with his own idea to keep him occupied. He’s going to need his host’s permission and use of her home to work on a plan he hopes will keep him in front of his fans and a contender for the Craft & Cooking Network spotlight.

When an angel accidentally falls to Earth — quite literally — Victorian England isn’t ready for him.
In The Wonderful Visit, H. G. Wells blends gentle comedy, quiet wonder, and sharp social insight in this whimsical tale of the extraordinary disrupting the everyday. When a vicar mistakes a celestial visitor for a rare bird and wounds him, he soon discovers the “strange bird” is, in fact, an angel — bewildered, radiant, and suddenly subject to the odd rules of human life.
As the vicar tends to his unexpected guest, the angel must confront earthly aches, polite society, manners, gossip, and the peculiar limitations of mortals. What follows is a heart-touching and humorous exploration of innocence, belief, and the fragile barrier between the divine and the ordinary.
With charm and subtle satire, Wells invites us to consider how humanity might greet the miraculous — with curiosity, confusion, and perhaps a touch of grace.
A tender, thoughtful fantasy told with wit and warmth.

People come to the guest house for fresh air and views across the Atlantic. But if they're lucky, they might just leave with the second chance they didn't know they needed...

Esme has run the guest house for as long as anyone in Ballycove can remember. But in her declining years, her sight is failing, and when she has a fall on the eve of the summer season, she is forced to take a back seat for the first time in her life.

From her chair in the entry hall, not much passes Esme by. There's Cora, the wife visiting indefinitely... without her husband; Niamh, the city professional with a life-changing decision to make; and Phyllie, the grandmother whose family is slipping away from her.

Esme's guests provide the colour that helps her keep her grip on the world. All of them have something they want to escape – or to hold on to. But can Esme help them find their way before the summer is over?

From bestselling Irish writer Faith Hogan comes a new, uplifting story about discovering love, friendship and the healing power of the Irish sea air. It will charm fans of Sheila O'Flanagan, Heidi Swain and Susanne O'Leary.

Mort Sahl has been described as one of the greatest political and social satirists of the 20th century. In Mort Sahl's America, the sophisticated political satirist exposes the grand follies of the powers that be. Deflating celebrity pretensions, he skewers liberals and conservatives alike. From Bill Clinton to Bob Dole, from Al Gore to Jesse Jackson, no one is spared. He talks of his frustrated relationships with liberated women and shares his thoughts on gay marriage and Catholic priests. As an added bonus, Sahl shares the stage with Senator Eugene McCarthy, whose bid for the 1968 US presidency ran on a platform which opposed the Vietnam War. McCarthy offers wry reflections on Lyndon Johnson's eccentric behavior and shrewd commentary on Robert McNamara.

She's been living it up in New York City, spending her nights talking her way into glamorous parties before heading home in the early hours to her hot boyfriend Luke.
