Sinopse

"Mythology Facts" explores the world of ancient myths, revealing connections between diverse cultures and examining how these narratives reflect humanity's shared experiences. The book delves into the underlying beliefs and social structures that shaped early societies, highlighting the universality of archetypes and the influence of historical context on myth development. For instance, creation myths often reflect a culture's understanding of their environment and origins, while hero narratives embody societal values and aspirations.

The book begins by establishing foundational concepts like creation myths and hero narratives, then examines these across different cultures, dedicating chapters to exploring the impact of geography, social structures, and historical events on mythological narratives. It emphasizes that myths, while seemingly unique, often address similar human concerns shaped by specific cultural conditions. By presenting factual information alongside comparative analyses, "Mythology Facts" provides a framework for understanding the diverse world of mythology and its lasting impact on art, literature, and popular culture.

    The Art of Intercession

Dr. Zacharias T. Fomum is a minister of the Word, and a scientist. He combines the teaching of organic chemistry at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa, with the spiritual ministry of teaching the Word in many countries. He searches out facts and presents them in a teachable format.
In expanded outline form, Dr. Fomum presents the Biblical teaching about who an intercessor is, what intercession is, and how an intercessor intercedes in this book entitled, The Art of Intercession.
An intercessor then ... takes the sin of another upon himself... He pleads and labours with God until the guilty party is forgiven.
Pointing to a great shortage of intercessors, the question is asked, "Does it matter to you?"
Biblical teaching on intercession is covered in both the Old and New Testaments. Perhaps the greatest need of the Church today is that we be intercessors. Dr. Fomum examines the art of intercession as practised by Moses, Abraham, Daniel, Nehemiah, Paul, Epaphras and Jesus Himself.
The challenge is disturbing as the reader realizes how short of the mark is even the most spiritual of Christians.
Dr. Fomum practises what he teaches, as do some Churches in Cameroon. Who of us prays for several hours each day? Who of us fasts and prays in spiritual warfare for from 21-40 days at a time, several times per year?
This book is MUST reading for the serious Christian.

Pursuing an Expansive Life of Prayer
In wondrous contrast to silent idols, the one true God speaks. He addresses his people in love, and it's their great privilege to answer him in prayer. At its root, prayer isn't mere self-expression or a prod to get a silent God to speak, but it is a learned skill to answer God's initiating word in Christ.
Through this thoughtful book, author and pastor Daniel J. Brendsel explains how responding to God can nurture prayerful engagement with Scripture, shape healthy rhythms among God's praying people, and spur excitement for communion with God. For those disappointed by their current life of prayer, Answering Speech invites readers to enter into an expansive and exuberant life of response to the Father through the Son in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    - Offers a Unique Perspective: Explores how Christians are not initiators of prayer but responders to what God has already done
    - Appeals to Pastors and Thoughtful Laypersons: Focuses on important issues that should be taught within the local church
    - Theological yet Accessible: Deeply rooted in theology, this book offers encouragement and practical rhythms for prayer
