Sinopsis

"Inka History" offers a captivating exploration of one of history's most intriguing civilizations, challenging long-held assumptions about the Inka Empire. This comprehensive book delves into the empire's rise, complex social structures, and enduring innovations, arguing that the Inka were far more sophisticated and influential than previously recognized. By integrating recent archaeological discoveries, Spanish colonial records, and indigenous oral histories, the book presents a nuanced view of Inka achievements and their place in world history.

The narrative progresses logically, starting with the origins of Inka civilization and its rapid expansion, before exploring daily life, religion, and scientific advancements. Readers are introduced to the empire's remarkable feats, such as sustainable agriculture techniques and efficient governance systems that continue to fascinate scholars today. The book's interdisciplinary approach, connecting anthropology, archaeology, and environmental studies, provides a holistic understanding of this pre-Columbian society.

What sets this work apart is its accessibility and scholarly rigor, making it valuable for both general readers and academics. By challenging Eurocentric views and highlighting the Inka's technological and cultural contributions, "Inka History" invites readers to reconsider their understanding of world history and the legacy of indigenous American civilizations.

Brought to you by Altrusian Grace Media and narrated by Matthew Schmitz. The Turba Philosophorum, also known as Assembly of the Philosophers, is one of the oldest European alchemy texts, translated from the Arabic, like the Picatrix. It is considered to have been written c. 900 A.D. To quote Plessner, "the Turba Philosophorum, written c. 900 A.D., is a well planned and, from a literary point of view, a most remarkable attempt to put Greek alchemy into the Arabic language and to adapt it to Islamic science". Nine philosophers take part in a discussion, being, once the text has been transcribed back to the original Arabic, Anaximander, Anaximenes, Anaxagoras, Empedocles, Archelaus, Leucippus, Ecphantus, Pythagoras and Xenophanes. The statements of the philosophers, whilst usually different from the known beliefs of the pre-Socratics, are usually recognisable as outgrowths of Greek philosophy. They discuss matter, how it acts, and relate this to cosmology, with three theses presented by Xenophanes in his closing speech, being, again from Plessner: "1) The creator of the World is Allah, the God of Islam; 2) The world is of a uniform nature; 3) All creatures of the upper as well as of the lower world are composed of all four elements.

Today, Tutankhamen is the most famous of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. After his death at the age of nineteen, "King Tut" was forgotten from history, until the discovery of his tomb in 1922 propelled him to worldwide fame. But the circumstances of his death remain shrouded in mystery . . .

X-rays of Tutankhamen's skull suggest a violent death. Was it accident or murder? Several members of his family died around the same time—was is coincidence? Why did Tutankhamen's widow send desperate messages to the Hittite king, requesting marriage to one of his sons? And who murdered the Hittite price on his journey to Egypt? Who ordered the removal of Tutankhamen's name from all monuments and temples, and thus from Egyptian history?

This fascinating, painstakingly researched book is the first to explore in depth the questionable circumstances of Tutankhamen's demise—and to present a shocking scenario of betrayal, ambition, and murder.
