  Phillip DePoy is the Edgar Award winning author of twenty-one novels and forty-three produced plays. An internationally reviewed performance artist, he was writer in residence for the Georgia Council for the Arts in the 1980s. As Composer in Residence for the Academy Theatre he wrote music for twenty-seven productions there. In the 1990s he was the Artistic Director of Theatrical Outfit, a professional, Equity theatre. Since then he has served as the director of several university theatre programs. He was awarded Georgia Author of the Year's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. DePoy also holds an undergraduate degree in English literature and folklore, and a graduate degree in performance art.

Many stories revolve around the land, animals, and celestial bodies, portraying them as spiritual entities rather than mere physical elements. Rivers, mountains, and forests are often imbued with sacred significance, serving as homes to powerful spirits or the setting for legendary events. Animals, too, play a vital role, with figures like the wise Raven, the cunning Coyote, and the noble Eagle embodying various aspects of human nature. These stories do not merely explain natural phenomena—they offer guidance on how to coexist with the environment, reinforcing the belief that humans are part of a greater, interconnected whole.

  Some might say, its in our DNA. That maybe so.  
  The Greeks knew how to display it, as both eroticism and as an Art form. 
  Showing both sexes in the 'Perfect' perfection of Beauty! 
  Unfortunately; the human form, especially the female human form has been in the last few decades 
  since the new renaissance or as we call the sexual revolution or as is now the 'free society'. 
  Denigrated to an object not of art but purely of desire, or descended into the more pornographic exploitive realms of decor art.
