Sinopsis

Space Mission Updates offers a timely exploration of humanity's renewed push toward sustainable space exploration. It highlights the shift from fleeting missions to establishing a lasting presence beyond Earth, driven by international collaboration and commercial partnerships. A key focus is in-situ resource utilization (ISRU), where resources found on other celestial bodies, like the Moon or asteroids, are used to reduce mission costs and increase self-sufficiency. This could revolutionize space travel, moving away from relying solely on Earth-based supplies. The book examines advancements in propulsion technology and strategies for long-duration space missions, crucial for lunar settlements, Martian settlements, asteroid mining, and deep-space exploration. It progresses logically, starting with core concepts before diving into research, breakthroughs, and ongoing projects. By integrating official reports and scientific data, the book objectively assesses the potential and challenges of utilizing space technology for future endeavors. Its distinctive focus on ISRU and a collaborative approach provides unique insights into the evolving future of space science and technology.

A groundbreaking compendium honoring the amazing true stories of fifty inspirational women who helped fuel some of the greatest achievements in space exploration from the nineteenth century to today—including Hidden Figure’s Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson as well as former NASA Chief Astronaut Peggy Whitson, the record-holding American biochemistry researcher who has spent the most cumulative time in space.
When Neil Armstrong stepped off the ladder of the lunar module, Eagle, he famously spoke of “one small step for man.” But Armstrong would not have reached the moon without the help of women. Today, females across the earth and above it—astronauts and mathematicians, engineers and physicists, test pilots and aerospace psychophysiologists—are pushing the boundaries of human knowledge, helping us to understand the universe and our place in it. Galaxy Girls celebrates more than four dozen extraordinary women from around the globe whose contributions have been fundamental to the story of humankind’s quest to reach the stars.
From Ada Lovelace in the nineteenth century to the “colored computers” behind the Apollo missions, from the astronauts breaking records on the International Space Station to the scientific pioneers blazing the way to Mars, Galaxy Girls goes boldly where few books have gone before, celebrating this band of heroic sisters and their remarkable and often little known scientific achievements. Written by Libby Jackson, a leading British expert in human space flight, Galaxy Girls will fire the imaginations of trailblazers of all ages.

As a healthcare provider, do you feel frustrated and fatigued with an impersonal, administrative-heavy system where you don’t feel your opinion matters? Do you feel powerless to effect change? You’re not alone! Provider burnout is rampant due to bureaucratic overload, long work hours, and the lack of community, respect, and autonomy at work. But these issues can be addressed without significant expense or a major system overhaul. Dr. John McB. Hodgson’s approach to healthcare change re-empowers healthcare providers to do what they love to do—care for patients, solve problems, and influence the delivery system. In Healing the System, Dr. Hodgson draws on his experience as a seasoned cardiologist to suggest easy-to-implement changes that healthcare providers and administrators can make to combat the increasingly dysfunctional environment typical of current practice. These simple changes can bring a sense of fulfillment, joy, and satisfaction back to the practice of medicine, and the entire system will be energized. Hodgson’s solutions includegetting back to missional purpose, rather than focusing solely on the numbers;empowering teams and community;encouraging equity in the place where providers practice;involving providers in administrative functions and decision making; andhonoring one another, no matter the position or the department. The message in this book encourages physicians and other healthcare delivery professionals to create an environment and culture in which everyone can thrive.

Wernher von Braun ( March 23, 1912 – June 16, 1977) was a German aerospace engineer and space architect. He was the leading figure in the development of rocket technology in Nazi Germany and a pioneer of space technology and science in the United States.
After World War II, von Braun was secretly moved to the US, along with roughly 1,600 other German scientists, engineers, and technicians, as part of Operation Paperclip. He worked for the United States Army on an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) program, and he developed the rockets that launched the United States' first space satellite Explorer 1.
He served as director of the Marshall Space Flight Center and as the chief architect of the Saturn V super heavy-lift launch vehicle that propelled the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon. In 1955, von Braun became a naturalized citizen of the United States. In 1975, von Braun received the National Medal of Science. This recording is from Dr. Von Braun's speech at the 1st Annual SOLE Symposium, September 13, 1966, in Huntsville Alabama.
