Private eye Ivan Monk takes on his most personal mystery to date—and chases answers deep into America’s haunted past.

Long ago, Marshall Spears was a hero of the ballpark. In a time when baseball—and the nation—was segregated, he played in the vaunted Negro Leagues.

Decades later, Old Man Spears is living out his days as a fixture in a barbershop in South Central.

One afternoon, PI Ivan Monk—a shop regular—learns that Spears’s former teammate was Kennesaw Riles. From family lore, Monk knows Riles is his cousin who was ostracized for the damning testimony he gave during a controversial murder trial in the ’60s—testimony that put a firebrand civil rights leader behind bars. Before Monk can hear more, Old Man Spears drops dead while listening to a ballgame on the radio. Even stranger, the long missing Riles shows up at the Old Man’s funeral services, and dies soon after.

Monk knows the timing is not a coincidence. He follows the mystery to the Mississippi Delta. There, he unravels the truth behind the murder of two civil rights era activists. Eventually Monk zeroes in on a group of shadowy Mississippi businessmen-turned-philanthropists who may not have reformed their ways as they claim. Far from Los Angeles, the tenacious private eye confronts his own family history as well as a brand of hatred thought to have died with Jim Crow.

After a scandalous arrest in San Francisco, Carissa Carmichael has moved back to her small Southern California hometown to start over as she opens her Aromatherapy Apothecary shop and reflexology services. A tourist destination, Oak Creek Valley, seems the perfect place to put the past behind her, but it seems no one will let her forget. When she finds the man who threatened to drive her out of business murdered in her shop, Carissa becomes the primary suspect, especially when her fingerprints are found on the murder weapon. Despite her father's position as Oak Creek Valley's chief of police, most townspeople assume she's guilty.

Refusing to run again, Carissa knows she must prove her innocence to save her shop and save her father's career when the investigating detective turns his focus on her. With suspects acting as slippery as the essential oils she distills, it's up to Carissa to apply pressure and sniff out the truth before it's too late.

Some secrets refuse to stay buried. Some killers never stop.
When DCNR Ranger Emily Davis discovers a human skull buried in the Pennsylvania wilderness, she unwittingly exposes a decades-old crime and a serial killer who has been using her park as a dumping ground. As more remains are uncovered, one set is traced to a long-forgotten cold case involving a missing judge, a mystery that now appears to be just one piece of a disturbing pattern. Clues suggest the judge’s disappearance is connected to several other missing persons cases—each one pointing to a predator who has gone undetected for years.
State Police Sergeant Wade Brunner has spent years chasing justice, but this case is personal. Not only is Emily the woman he never stopped loving, but working alongside her stirs memories of the one case that still haunts them both—Emily’s missing sister, Nora. While her disappearance remains separate from the murders, every uncovered body forces Emily to relive the trauma of losing her sister.
As they work to unravel the threads of a case spanning years and victims, Wade and Emily must confront their past, their faith, and a relentless killer who has no intention of stopping.
But the closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes. Someone is watching. Someone is hunting. And Emily may be the next to vanish.
For fans of Colleen Coble, Lisa Phillips, and Susan May Warren, Grave Pursuits is a riveting Christian suspense novel where past sins refuse to stay buried, and faith is the only thing standing between justice and death.

AFTER THOUGHT is an electrifying and unforgettable dystopian thriller that imagines what society could look like after America’s second Civil War. In the wake of unspeakable violence, the United States adopts a technology to ensure everlasting peace. But one woman, Ada, uncovering her family’s redacted past and a surveillance company’s role in the war, pushes the nation to the brink of an even bloodier conflict.
What follows is the immersive account of our heroine, who realizes that she’s more than a victim of the last Civil War; she is the arbiter of the first Neural War. Through this journey Ada struggles to comprehend fact from fiction. Her knowledge, though a heavy burden, ultimately empowers her to brave, world altering decisions. After Thought is a tale for our times, which confronts readers with conventions of censorship and punishment, the necessity and danger of free speech, and horror we may face as technologies become indistinguishable from humans.
