Sinopsis

What happens when men who work two sides of the moral code of crime come together? Todd Gleason, con man, meets Jimmy McSwain, private detective, in a game of wits that challenges their own take on justice.
For Todd Gleason, there was something alluring about Jersey-born Angela Delvecchio that caught his attention. They had a fun night, but that's all, right?
On his train ride back to the city, Todd overhears two men of questionable repute discussing the death of a friend of theirs -- and the money she left behind. Sounds like an opportunity for an intrepid con man.
Fresh off a case of dueling cheating spouses, Jimmy McSwain sees two locals arrive at his uncle's pub. Known in Hell's Kitchen as usually up to no good, Jimmy finds himself more intrigued by the man following them. But their chance meeting may force the two of them to work together on a spiraling conspiracy.
It's a tough world out there. New York has its villains. New Jersey has its scams. Both have their bodies. This story is fun, dangerous, suspenseful, and fast-paced, and could only have come from the singular mind of Adam Carpenter and Joseph Pittman.

'An intimate, beautifully told memoir' Elinor Cleghorn
When my third child was born, I was told I had a boy. The baby was given a boy’s name and raised in that gender. But when she died, twenty years later, she died as my daughter, and will forever be remembered that way.
Alice Litman died by suicide in May 2022, aged just twenty years old, having already waited almost three years for her first appointment at a gender identity clinic.
In stunningly beautiful prose, Caroline Litman captures the realities of an often-messy journey navigating both her daughter’s transition and the days, weeks and months after Alice’s death.
Searing, urgent and utterly unique, Her Name is Alice is the raw, human story of a mother’s love and grief for her child – and of a young trans woman who is impossible to forget and who must be remembered.
This upcoming autobiography, Her Name is Alice, is a powerful narrative that explores the intersection of family, death, and identity. It is a top pick among the latest non-fiction memoirs, offering a unique perspective on social issues and the LGBTQ+ community.

Trailblazing author, Marianne K. Martin asks, "How much are you willing to sacrifice to protect your students and the woman you love?" in this powerful and timely novel.

Johanna Beals decided sixteen years ago to sacrifice everything to raise her daughter Kayla as a single mother. She knew it was the right decision even when it led to lonely nights and broken relationships, and even when adolescent secrets challenged their mother/daughter bond. But the decision to go it alone seems easy compared to the one she is about to face.

Secrets and bouts of teenage angst don't only challenge parents. English teacher, Miya James, has dealt with her fair share of them over the years. But Kayla Beals seems to be whispering to the wind, an act that stirs uncomfortable memories of Miya's fractured childhood. As the school year progresses, she finds she wasn't prepared for this student, for her mother, or for the sparks that add fuel to the teeming atmosphere of unrest, bullying, and homophobia that leaves her school district grappling with life-changing decisions for everyone involved.

Giant magical snails aren't exactly at the top of the list of heroic quests. But the village of Dun Nas needs help, and Aric needs money: being a legendary swordsman might be nice, but so is getting paid. Anyway, snails -- even giant ones -- aren't anything he can't handle, especially with his half-fairy partner Emrys. Together, the Storm-Wielder and the Shadow can fight anything, or so the stories say.

But this job's more complicated than it seems. The lake holds a dangerous magical mystery. Aric trusts Emrys with his life -- but he'd also love to offer his heart, and he doesn't know whether Em feels the same. Em isn't human, after all ... and has a few secrets of their own.
