Sinopsis

Sexy hunk Joey Silva takes center stage, as he comes to White Pine as the temporary fire captain, only to find his own sense of sex and love questioned by a new arrival with a mysterious past. Joey Silva is strong, sexual, a hairy hunk powered by his unquenchable sex drive as much by his passion for fighting fires.
Arriving as the newly named Deputy Chief of the White Pine Fire Department, Joey is trying to prove he's worthy of this important job. Sex should be the last thing on his mind. But one man, a young, impressionable volunteer named Gil Keane cannot hide his obvious attraction to the burly Joey. Yet it is another man, quiet newcomer Nick Lynch who commands Joey's attention, even as the man's past remains cloaked in mystery.
These three men find themselves linked by attraction, by temptations that threaten to undo them, by what they want and what they cannot have. As a bitterly cold winter falls on White Pine, placing the residents of this isolated Adirondack town in danger, a series of unrelated fires will forever connect them, until finally their own raging passions explode. But it's a devastating secret that, when exposed, will ultimately decide their fates.

How long, exactly, had June been coming to Moonie's for the sole purpose of pining after the bartender?

Long enough to know, probably, that there was no good reason for Mal Edwards, a bastion of stability and good sense, to see any kind of future with June anyway. Was it even fair to express feelings to a woman like that when June was barely around, on the road more than she wasn't?

But as another Pride weekend approaches, June's fiftieth birthday and the eventual end of her long-haul trucking days loom in her mind, nestled against the memories of Moonie's nights gone by where it felt like June and Mal came close—close to something happening, something real. Until June would inevitably chicken out, and retreat once again to life on the road.

It's time for June to finally figure out her next act. And if she's not brave enough to ask Mal Edwards to be part of it, she doesn't deserve her, anyway.

After all. If you can't tell a butch you love her during Pride, when the hell can you?

My life’s goal? Make plants fun!
I’m gonna be fighting for flora when I’m older and it all starts with auditing stats so I can level up for my masters, and lucky for me, the intriguing guy in my class is a math whizz.
He’s standoffish at first, but after a class where I bet my sitcoms can make him laugh, one bet leads to another and we’re hanging out all the time. Even though I know he’s interested in me, we’re easy friends, until I start to think I might be a little interested in him, too.
The only problem? He seems like a totally different guy in class to when we hang out. I brush it off as him trying to concentrate, but then I spot something I can’t explain away.
    A scar. On his palm.
One I’m positive Benny has never had before.
    Benny
Since we were little, my twin brother and I have always switched things up–literally. It started as funsies, and now we’re college juniors and still taking each other’s classes. I suck at Math, he sucks at English, and we both have a rule not to make friends in class as the other person. Our system is perfect.
Only Emmett has the audacity to get sick right before stats and I have to actually show up for my own class–where I meet my future husband.
Harrison is smart, weirdly into plants, and we instantly hit it off like old friends.
Only of course the gorgeous mountain of a nerd is straight.
Just when I’m telling myself to let my dreams of matching rings go, our text messages become constant, flirtier, deeper than I’ve had with any other guy before. My butterflies have butterflies every time we catch up.
And then I get a text from Emmett: I’m so sorry. I think I messed up.

I need to stop crushing on the hot new guy. Asking him to move in with me is the last thing I should do.

Ian: My main goal for sophomore year is to survive with my bruised heart intact. That looks a lot like avoiding anything that could hurt me, at least until Callum Cross shows up. He's so quiet, it's like he doesn't want people to notice him, but Callum is too tall, too built, and too damn good-looking to hide from anyone, especially me. Sure, all signs point to Callum being straight, but nobody's had his back before, and there's nothing stopping us from being friends. What makes things complicated is that Callum is exactly my type, and when he ends up crashing on my couch, there's no escaping how much I'd rather have him in bed.

Callum: A thousand miles isn't enough distance between here and home, not with nineteen years of baggage. I'm trying to keep my head down and stay out of the way where I belong, but Ian doesn't get the memo. I'm a shell of who I want to be, but that attractive, out-of-my-league baseball player talks to me like we're friends, and then . . . we actually are. Ian noticed me, but I can't let him notice how I feel—someone like him could never like me back. The only problem? He takes me in with open arms when I'm at my lowest. I know I'm not supposed to crave him, but he cares for me like nobody ever has. Ian gives me so much, and all I want is for him to take something back.
