Sinopse

A beautiful, free-spirited young woman has gone missing, and those closest to her fear for her life. Inspector DeKok is soon called upon to find out her whereabouts. It quickly becomes clear that this Nanette may have harbored a dark side, one that embraced blackmail, emotional cruelty, and a wicked selfishness.

The more DeKok learns of the beguiling Nanette, the more he feels that he is on the trail of a dead woman. DeKok's suspicions are confirmed with a phone call: the dismembered body of a young woman has been found at the city dump. Now DeKok has to find the bloodied hands responsible for the somber-eyed woman's murder.

In "The Secret Adversary" and "Partners in Crime," we find Tommy and Tuppence as they embark on a career as crime-solvers, first getting wrapped up in international intrigue and then, in Book Two, opening up a detective agency of their own and solving mysteries for various clients who seek their assistance.

Then, two books from the Superintendent Battle series, featuring Lady Eileen Brent - better known to her friends as "Bundle." In these two books - "The Secret of Chimneys" and "The Seven Dials Mystery," Superintendent Battle is faced with two mind-bending crimes, but with Bundle's help, the evildoers are soon on the run!

Yet the IRA column behind the attack insists they left her alive, that someone else must be responsible for her terrible fate. Captain Tom Harkin, an IRA intelligence officer and Maud's former fiancé, is sent to investigate. He becomes an unwelcome guest in this strange, gloomy household. Working undercover, Harkin must delve into the house's secrets—and discover where, in this fractured, embattled town, allegiances truly lie. But Harkin too is haunted by the ghosts of the past and by his terrible experiences on the battlefields. Can he find the truth about Maud's death before the past—and his strange, unnerving surroundings—overwhelm him?
