Το όμορφο αυτό παραμύθι αφηγείται έναν μικρό καλικάντζαρο, που έμενε στο σπίτι ενός πλούσιου μπακάλη και είχε πλουσιοπάροχη ζωή.   Στο ίδιο σπίτι στην σοφίτα, έμενε ένας φτωχός φοιτητής που πέθαινε της πείνας, γιατί όλα του τα λεφτά τα ξόδεψε σε βιβλία. Κάποια μέρα ο καλικάντζαρος κοίταξε από την κλειδαρότρυπα στο δωμάτιο του φοιτητή. Τι μπορεί να είδε; Τι συνέβη έπειτα; Διαβάστε το μόνοι σας.
 
Το παραμύθι είναι γεμάτο μαγεία, που κρύβει μέσα του σημαντικές αλήθειες και ηθικές αξίες. Το περιεχόμενό του, η εμφάνισή του και οι χρωματιστές του εικόνες, είναι σίγουρο πώς συναρπάζουν κάθε παιδί.
