I grew up in Spokane, Washington, graduated from North Central High School, where I majored in bookkeeping and other office practice studies. I got married soon after graduation. My husband and I lived in Idaho for a few years in a community called Benewah where my husband was involved in the logging and lumber hauling business. While living there I wrote the local community news for two newspapers, one in St. Maries, Idaho and the other in Tekoa, Washington. Later we moved back to Spokane...
