Summary

A rare gift determines one woman’s destiny in the breathtaking debut of a new trilogy from the international-bestselling author of the Ivory Carver Trilogy.   At just six years old, it becomes clear that China Creed’s birthright, passed down from her mother’s side of the family, is the power to grant wishes with only a touch. In their small Ozark town, where superstition runs rampant, the only person who can be trusted with her secret is the Cherokee midwife and healer who makes China her apprentice.   After the tumult of the Civil War, a new doctor arrives in town who is curious about the lovely young woman who can birth babies and banish hexes. As his interest in her deepens and China’s life is torn apart by her mother’s death and accusations of witchcraft, she will have to decide if her secret—and her heart—are finally safe in his hands.   In this epic nineteenth-century tale of alienation and avarice, survival and sacrifice, China will travel from the backwoods of Missouri to the mansions of Manhattan, as she searches for a future where she is finally free to trust, to love, and to touch . . .  Praise for the writing of Sue Harrison   “Mythic storytelling.” —The Washington PostBook World on Mother Earth, Father Sky   “Under Harrison’s hand, ancient Alaska comes beautifully alive.” —The Denver Post on Cry of the Wind   “Harrison expertly frames dramatic events with depictions of prehistoric life in the Aleutian Islands.” —The New York Times Book Review on Mother Earth, Father Sky   “Harrison once again displays her first-rate storytelling talents . . . This book is the last volume of "Kevin Goes to Japan." Now Yukio, Tomoko, and Yumiko have arrived in London. How could Yumiko talk to Kevin with her honest feeling toward him?

    2. Yukio's Yukio's Nostalgic Memories
    3. It Is Like a Moth Flying into the Flame?
    4. Mature Woman
    5. Are You a Hetare?
    6. Jumping Off the Stage in Kiyomizu Temple
    7. Eternal Love
    8. The True Identity of Tomoko the Yandere
    9. Already Being a Domineering Husband?
135 JLPT sample questions and word lists come with the story.
This reading level is almost N1 level because the story goes towards an end, and I wanted to focus on more plots and how the characters feel. Also, the setting is in the UK, which makes word lists longer. Reading my book does not mean that you will be able to speak Japanese fluently, but I believe you will have improved your reading comprehension skills because I made it progressively more difficult from 1 to 4.
The paperback versions will be released soon to check the word lists and practice sample questions for some of you.
I hope you keep learning Japanese through the bilingual novel entitled "Parasite Man," a story about Yukio and Tomoko. (Kevin and Yumiko will be there, but not soon.) Five of Yukio's colleagues weave love stories where they want to be loved. Can they find true love? The first volume will be released in August/September 2022.
Thank you again, and good luck studying Japanese and reading bilingual novels.

Journey into the Depths of the Human Spirit.

Fyodor Dostoevsky did not just write stories; he performed autopsies on the human soul. Recognized as one of the greatest psychologists in world literature, his work explores the turbulent intersection of faith, reason, and the darker impulses of the mind. This comprehensive collection brings together his complete novels, offering a profound exploration of the questions that define our existence.

This collection captures the diverse brilliance of a Russian titan:

The Pioneer of the Psychological Novel: Experience the groundbreaking "inner monologues" and complex moral dilemmas that influenced everyone from Nietzsche to Freud.

The Struggle for Faith and Morality: Delve into the intense spiritual debates between nihilism and belief, exploring the consequences of a world without moral absolutes.

The Anatomy of Crime and Guilt: Witness the harrowing psychological journeys of men and women pushed to the brink of madness by their own actions and social isolation.

Portraits of Imperial Russia: Immerse yourself in the gritty streets of St. Petersburg and the quiet tension of provincial towns, where the old world and modern ideas clash with explosive force.

Dostoevsky's ability to find beauty in suffering and light in the darkest corners of the heart makes his work timeless. Whether you are seeking a tense intellectual thriller or a deep meditation on the nature of good and evil, this volume is an essential cornerstone for any library of world literature, philosophy, and classic fiction.
