Sinossi

In "Baseball Wisdom: 3 Classic Books on the Strategy of Baseball," Zane Grey presents a compelling fusion of narrative flair and analytical acumen, delving into the intricacies of America's pastime. This collection features three seminal works that dissect the underlying strategies of baseball, blending Grey's vivid prose with keen insights into the game's tactical complexities. His writing transcends mere sports commentary, placing the reader in the dugouts and batting boxes of a bygone era while emphasizing the psychological and sociological dimensions of the sport. Grey contextualizes baseball not just as a game, but as a reflection of American culture in the early 20th century, rich with burgeoning rivalries and evolving norms. Zane Grey, an accomplished author and avid baseball enthusiast, drew upon his own experiences in sports and his passion for storytelling to craft this collection. Known for his adventure tales and his romanticized depictions of the American frontier, Grey's work in sports literature showcases his ability to meld personal passion with literary precision. His deep-seated admiration for the game lent authenticity to his observations, offering readers not just a strategy guide, but a glimpse into the heart of baseball itself. I highly recommend "Baseball Wisdom" to both avid baseball fans and those unfamiliar with the sport alike. Whether you're seeking to enhance your understanding of game strategy or simply enjoy the rich narrative, this book stands as a celebration of baseball's enduring spirit. Grey’s articulate examination will resonate with anyone who appreciates the artistry intrinsic to this beloved sport.

Jürgen Said to Me is a human-interest story centred around Liverpool FC's most successful and charismatic leader of recent times. It charts Jürgen Klopp's impact on Liverpool through the voice of the author and those at the heart of his revival.

In October 2015, Klopp took the helm at Liverpool at a time when the famous club were entering a third decade of league-title drought. The German coach had prospered with his brand of 'heavy-metal football', but little was known about his personality beyond an obvious energy and charisma. He entered a city steeped in personality, history and trauma - a place where the people demand more than a mere coach to lead their clubs.

Klopp's social influence has stretched to matters such as diversity, the economy, the COVID-19 pandemic and local history. The book explores the human impact of a man who single-handedly harnessed togetherness and the global unity of millions, while reshaping one of the most famous cities in the world.

The Examined Run - Why Good...

Can running make me a more moral person? Can striving to be a better person make me a better runner?

In The Examined Run, philosopher and ultramarathon runner Sabrina B. Little asks whether running can be a laboratory for developing our character. She looks at the key ideas in virtue ethics—virtue, vice, exemplarism, moral emotions, and competition—and brings them into conversation with her experience in training and racing. Little pushes against the frequent conversations about ethics and sport that focus on the negative—doping and other forms of cheating or on simplistic expressions like "no pain, no gain." She argues that these ideas don't address the rich picture of how athletics inform a good life, and sport's relationship to acts of justice or courage. A good athlete is not just one who avoids cheating—rather, they perform feats of perseverance and courage, and succeed by working to develop their natural capacities. Little employs her own experiences in training, coaching, and racing in world class ultramarathons to reveal how athletics and virtue are deeply interconnected.

I recently saw several predictions by well-known seers of the future that there will be a huge natural disaster in June/July of 2025.
Whether a disaster from a comet crashing into the Earth, a huge volcanic eruption or earthquake or a nuclear war; the likelihood of humanity suffering a period of global cooling is that it will happen—and has already happened in the past.
Disasters could actually cause global cooling for months or years. In trying to lookup any books on how to individuals and society should handle global cooling I couldn’t find anything. So I decided to write a manual dealing with this issue.
    This manual has five parts:
    Part One-Understanding the Threat
    Part Two-Preparation and Prevention
    Part Three-Surviving the Freeze
    Part Four-Rebuilding in the ICE
    Part Five-Looking Forward
Historical examples of how mankind dealt with global cooling in the past are included as well as lots of advice on how to recognize this process happening to our world, and how to deal with the consequences.
Survival for both individuals and society, and how to plan for the future.
I hope this situation never happens in our lifetimes but this book might be an aid to survival in those circumstances.
