This book contains 3 titles, which are the following:
    · Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity is no longer a niche concern for IT professionals but a critical issue that impacts everyone. From personal data breaches to large-scale corporate hacks, the risks of cyber attacks are more real and damaging than ever. Hackers, cybercriminals, and even state-sponsored entities have the ability to infiltrate systems, steal sensitive data, and disrupt critical services. The consequences of these actions can range from financial loss to the erosion of privacy, and in some cases, even national security threats.
    · Global Disasters: The world is increasingly vulnerable to a wide array of disasters, both natural and man-made, that threaten our lives, economies, and ecosystems. These crises, which range from catastrophic earthquakes to the far-reaching impacts of climate change, have become more frequent, intense, and interconnected. While the planet has always been subject to the forces of nature, human activity has amplified many of these events, while also introducing new, unprecedented risks. Natural disasters, like hurricanes, wildfires, and floods, have become an inevitable part of the global landscape, but they are now exacerbated by the ongoing environmental degradation we’ve caused.
    · Drug Cartels: Drug cartels have become a pervasive and highly organized criminal force with a significant global reach. These powerful syndicates control large portions of the illegal drug trade, operating not only within their home countries but across continents. Their operations extend far beyond drug trafficking, often influencing global markets, politics, and even social structures. The history of drug cartels is intertwined with the rise of drug consumption worldwide, as their growth is directly linked to the increasing demand for illicit substances such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines, and marijuana.

    The Book on the Bookshelf

From the author of the highly praised The Pencil and The Evolution of Useful Things comes another captivating history of the seemingly mundane: the book and its storage.
Most of us take for granted that our books are vertical on our shelves with the spines facing out, but Henry Petroski, inveterately curious engineer, didn’t. As a result, readers are guided along the astonishing evolution from papyrus scrolls boxed at Alexandria to upright books shelved at the Library of Congress.
Petroski takes us into the pre-Gutenberg world, when books were so scarce they were chained to lecterns for security. He explains how the printing press not only changed the way books were made and shelved but also increased their availability and transformed book readers into book owners and collectors.
In delightful digressions, Petroski lets Seneca have his say on “the evils of book collecting;” examines the famed collection of Samuel Pepys and his only three thousand titles—old discarded to make room for new; and discusses bookselling, book buying, and book collecting through the centuries.
This is the ultimate book on the book: how it came to be and how we have come to keep it.

Welcome to Hank’s Chicken Raising Book. This book is meant for those of you who are thinking about, or have just begun, an adventure in the wide world of chickens. First though, I have to ask, why chickens? They’re such fowl creatures---sorry, about that...

So, what is this book all about? This book will answer the basic questions about chicken raising and help you get started on the right foot. It will also help you as your chicken empire grows and keep you from being plucked apart by the competitive chicken raising business. I have tried to keep this book lighthearted and while also factual and helpful, after all once you start, I don’t want you to chicken out.

I’ve designed this book to help in your research and to get you started off on the right foot. First up, I’ll talk about some of the laws you’re going to have to know related to raising chickens where you live. Then I’ll dive deeper in the question of why do you want to raise chickens? What’s the real reason. Once you know exactly why you’re raising them and what you hope to accomplish, I’ll talk about how you can decide what is the best Chicken breed or type of chicken for you? Once you know which is the bird of choice, then it’s about how to house them, after all you have to have a place to keep them. Once they’re safe, I’ll talk about feeding them, and then keeping them healthy.

A cinematic journey into the unclassified pages of The Adam and Eve Story by Chan Thomas — the only officially released material traced to CIA archives. Originally published as a much longer manuscript believed to exceed 200 pages, only 57 sanitized and partially redacted pages were officially released to the public. This presentation focuses exclusively on those verified declassified pages, including references to sections and material that remain withheld, censored, or missing from public release.
While disputed “full copies” continue to circulate online, their authenticity remains unverified. Exploring theories of ancient cataclysms, pole shifts, lost civilizations, and humanity’s forgotten past, this immersive narration brings the controversial text to life through atmospheric storytelling and cinematic visual art inspired by the unclassified material itself.

The Rose-breasted Grosbeak often stays out of sight among the treetops. However, its rich melodious song consisting of whistled phrases, somewhat similar to the American Robin's voice can often be heard in spring and summer. Where the range of this species overlaps with that of the Black-headed Grosbeak on the Great Plains, the two sometimes interbreed. This binaural audio recording features the Rose-breasted Grosbeak birdsong recorded in its natural habitat in Iowa’s Yellow River State Forest near a delicate babbling river stream together with other birds, insects, and ground creatures. Other birdsongs include: Red-winged Blackbird, Song Sparrow, Blue Jay, Mourning Dove, American Crown with American Goldfinch, Gray Catbird, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker drumming in background.

    Tidy First? - A Personal...

Messy code is a nuisance. "Tidying" code, to make it more readable, requires breaking it up into manageable sections. In this practical guide, author Kent Beck, creator of Extreme Programming and pioneer of software patterns, suggests when and where you might apply tidyings to improve your code while keeping the overall structure of the system in mind.

Instead of trying to master tidying all at once, this book lets you try out a few examples that make sense for your problem. If you have a big function containing many lines of code, you'll learn how to logically divide it into smaller chunks. Along the way, you'll learn the theory behind software design: coupling, cohesion, discounted cash flows, and optionality. This book helps you:

    ● Understand the basic theory of how software design works and the forces that act on it

    ● Explore the difference between changes to a system's behavior and changes to its structure

    ● Improve your programming experience by sometimes tidying first and sometimes tidying after

    ● Learn how to make large changes in small, safe steps

    ● Approach software design as an exercise in human relationships
