Synopsis

In the sweltering summer of 1977, the Bronx is burning—but not all fires are created equal. 
 
 
 
Ezra Levine, a bodega night clerk with a hidden talent for earth magic, prefers to keep his head down and his powers under wraps. But when an ancient golem crumbles before his eyes and an otherworldly inferno threatens to consume his beloved borough, Ezra is thrust into a shadowy world of supernatural politics and age-old conflicts. 
 
 
 
Paired with a technomancer firefighter and guided by a mysterious santería priestess, Ezra must navigate a treacherous magical underworld hidden beneath the gritty streets of New York City. As he uncovers a conspiracy that links mystical arson to all-too-human greed, Ezra grapples with his growing powers and the moral gray areas that come with them. 
 
 
 
With the Bronx as a tinderbox of racial tensions and urban decay, Ezra faces an impossible choice: destroy the fire elemental to save his home, or risk everything to redeem both the spirit and his troubled borough.
